This should be considered a required training.&nbsp;<br>It will include some question\/answer opportunities, some breakouts and polling, as well as a wide range of topics, some of which are listed below:<br><strong><u>Topics include:<br><\/u><\/strong>Protections under Section 504<br>Physical\/Mental Impairments &amp; Major Bodily Functions<br>Major Life Activities<br>504 Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE)<br>Health Plans vs. Section 504 Plans<br>Medical Professionals<br>Medical Diagnoses<br>COVID-19 &amp; 504 Protections<br>Extracurricular &amp; Nonacademic Activities<br>Disciplinary Issues<br>ADHD &amp; ADD<br>Dyslexia<br>Transfer students<br>Post-Secondary Transition<br>Disability Harassment<br>Keys in Today\u2019s 504\/Title II (ADA)<\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n<h6><span style=\"color: #730303\"><strong>Process for incoming out-of-state\/district 504 plans &#8211;<span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><em> if taking time to collect data<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\"><br>1. Send the incoming 504 plan to Denise to upload<br>2. Notify teachers of the 504 accommodations if not immediately holding a meeting<br>3. Observe the student for no longer than one month<br>4. B<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\">ring the student into SE Synergy as an INITIAL (New 504 Evaluation)<br>5. Write the Bend-La Pine plan<br>6. Send meeting packet and request to check the plan to Denise<p><\/p>\n<p>If you are writing a plan immediately, all you need to do is 4, 5 &amp; 6 <br><\/p><\/span><\/h6>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #333399\">A student on a 504 plan goes to BLPOnline <em><span style=\"color: #800080\"><span style=\"color: #800000\">full time<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span>. What do you do?<\/strong><br>1. It&#8217;s a new setting&#8230;..Contact Michelle Oliver, BLPOnline 504 Coordinator, to schedule a 504 meeting<br>2. If student does not need accommodations in the BLPOnline setting, update the 504 to indicate the student does not require accommodations at this time. Use meeting notes and attendance from the BLPOnline meeting. You need to continue to monitor annually<br>3. Student returns to school (whether part or full time), you&#8217;ll need to hold a renewal meeting to reflect &#8216;new&#8217; setting<br>4.
