{"id":833,"date":"2022-09-29T22:12:05","date_gmt":"2022-09-29T22:12:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/504-tips-newsletter\/?p=833"},"modified":"2022-10-10T15:02:29","modified_gmt":"2022-10-10T15:02:29","slug":"504-blog-10-4-22","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/504-tips-newsletter\/2022\/09\/29\/504-blog-10-4-22\/","title":{"rendered":"504 Blog 10\/4\/22"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"color: #339966\">On our new portal website (Student Services Resource in the Quick Links list) &#8211; 504 information<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4>Folks, <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/bend.k12.or.us\/student-services-resource-site\/504-information\">here&#8217;s a link<\/a> to our new portal site&#8217;s 504 information &#8216;folder&#8217;<br \/>It&#8217;s worth taking a look as it has documents that address many of the questions you send my way.<br \/>For instance:\u00a0 Teachers using <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/113cYE47ZNQ43GX3bENDUh70xB-OsyRHu\/view?usp=sharing\">TeacherVue<\/a> to see 504 accommodations; <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1V9lB3o99ZT00XGnEwTpXEK39tvmkD3m5\/view?usp=sharing\">Bringing a student<\/a> into the SE side of Synergy, <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/bend.k12.or.us\/student-services-resource-site\/504-information\/workflow\">Workflow of forms<\/a> to fill when doing an initial, 3 yr or annual; <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/bend.k12.or.us\/student-services-resource-site\/504-information\/examples-from-synergy\">Synergy forms examples<\/a>;\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/bend.k12.or.us\/student-services-resource-site\/504-information\/plan-forms-and-related-documents\">Additional 504 forms<\/a>; and more.<\/h4>\n<h4>I hope you find this site useful!<\/h4>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n<h4><span style=\"color: #339966\"><strong>Four main points to remember when writing 504 plans:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>\n<h5>&nbsp;ALL HS senior plans must be renewed throughout the school year<p><\/p>\n<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>&nbsp;All plans (including seniors) must be completed by <strong>May 31st<\/strong>. No&nbsp;&nbsp; Exceptions. (unless a new 504 plan comes in)<\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h5>Plan accordingly if you are involved in EOY events. <br>Write due 504 plans earlier.<p><\/p>\n<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>&nbsp;All concurrent plans must be renewed until the IEP icon is on in Synergy<p><\/p>\n<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>&nbsp;Please do not finalize a 504 plan until it has been checked by the district 504 support person.<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n<h4><span style=\"color: #339966\"><strong>Tidbits:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h5>Student coming in with a plan from out of state\/district, which process do you bring them in under?&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>As a 504 Initial.<p><\/p>\n<\/strong><p><strong><\/strong><\/p><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Your 504 meeting is finalized.
