COMMUNITY RESOURCES FAIR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community Resources Fair for Bend-La Pine Staff<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, members from various community agencies will be coming together for a community resource fair for Bend-La Pine Schools staff. \u00a0I am hoping a few of you can attend this event and report back to the team during our February 14<\/u>th<\/u><\/sup>\u00a0nurse meeting??<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Please let Tami know if you plan to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bend-La Pine Schools staff will rotate through and visit community partner tables learning about the diverse community resources available to assist us with making more informed recommendations to students and families who may benefit from the resource services presented. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ERIN’S LAW<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FYI – What is Erin’s Law? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erin’s Law requires that all public schools offer child abuse prevention education to help children gain the confidence to have a voice, and to speak up in cases of sexual abuse.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erin’s Law is named after childhood sexual assault survivor, author, speaker and activist Erin Merryn. In 2012, Erin introduced the legislation in her home state of Illinois, requiring that all public schools implement a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse program. Oregon adopted Erin’s Law in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immunization Exclusion Day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immunization Exclusion Day for ALL students is Wednesday February 21, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you everyone for your help in getting our students updated with their immunizations before Exclusion Day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Health Department will then send out letters to those families whose students are not up to date notifying them that they will be excluded from attending school on February 21st<\/sup> if they are not up to date by then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
