<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As a team of 3, (1 nurse from each grade level) you will give a mini (10-15 minutes) discussion on the health topic of choice to include:<ul><li>assessment <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>potential nursing plan of action (intervention) guidelines<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>resources (pictures, literature, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>anything else<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please write your name under 2 health topics of your choice from the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1Hpne7qVrtXSUuP_7ENn2OfkRxDB2wf68LhPjtieVXjI\/edit?usp=sharing\">Meeting Health Topic Discussion spreadsheet<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please let Tami know if you would like a topic added to the list.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-background has-larger-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#e1731b\"><strong>SEIZURES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Swimming Safety Update<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>According to 3 local pediatric care providers &#8211; determination of safety precautions should be on a case by case basis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adaptive PE teacher, Jessica Malanowski, will be coming to our nurse meeting on March 12th to discuss various safety devices and rationales for their use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pool safety for students with seizures guidance will be updated after nurse meeting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-background has-larger-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#e1731b\"><strong>SEXUALITY EDUCATION<\/strong> (FYI)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From Aimee Snyder, DrPH &#8211; Adolescent and School Health Supervisor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Communicating to Families about Sex Ed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Head\u2019s Up:&nbsp; The newsletter content below about what to expect for Sexuality Education in Bend-La Pine Schools will be in the Feb 26 Family Spotlight.&nbsp;&nbsp;If you\u2019re concerned about any questions that may come your way from this district newsletter, here are the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1_CY0YlRGmyFOiyPnCUZtzuOLaOsW9rk-yrLfHfT3jQw\/edit?usp=sharing\">district\u2019s talking points<\/a>&nbsp;about sexuality education.&nbsp; You can also contact Dean Richards and your Public Health Specialist for help with any questions you have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An Option for You:&nbsp; It is also an option to include this family communication about the district\u2019s Sex Ed in general in your school newsletters.&nbsp; Your Public Health Specialist will bring this ask to you so that you can decide when\/if it goes out in your school newsletter.&nbsp; &nbsp;This is an&nbsp;optional&nbsp;addition to what is required by law for family communications about Sex Ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-background has-larger-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#e1731b\"><strong> SWIM SAFETY FOR STUDENTS WITH SEIZURES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jessica Malonowski will be coming to our March 12 nurse meeting to discuss adaptive PE swimming safety. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few of our local pediatric providers felt that determining which safety device to use should be on a case by case basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once we meet with Jessica, we, as a team, will talk about next steps to establish safety standards for our adaptive PE swimming students with seizures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-background has-larger-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#e1731b\"><strong>SYNERGY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Updates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Parent access to input medication administration for school<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IT has disabled this feature.
