Welcome Back! HERE<\/a> you will find a table that outlines meetings, trainings and events\/activities that will be happening over the next two weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


For Monday (Jan 25th)<\/u><\/strong> After signing-in we invite you (not required) to go to the library for a sweet morning treat and coffee! While you are there, please take a minute to look at the board introducing our new staff this year; in the event you see them around the building! Please take your coffee and treat to-go<\/strong> and please no eating in the library. We will start our staff meeting by WebEx at 8:15 AM<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reminder that this is the hybrid schedule that we are using –<\/strong> Please see the new Schedule HERE<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Failing in “the 11th hour” –<\/strong> With two weeks asynchronous work, there is a possibility that students may fail in “the 11th hour” if something is assigned on February 3rd or 4th. Typically this isn’t as much of a concern because we normally have finals, and most assignments are done a few days prior. Please consider February 2nd<\/strong> to be your “End Date” and not to assign anything new or at least no major assignments where a student could fail at the last moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To Do<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SLGG’s<\/span> <\/span>(Due February 26th)<\/strong>– SLGG’s are ready to go!<\/span> <\/strong>They are now in TalentEd<\/a>. Staff are required to have two SLGG’s, but the state has shifted the requirements for the year to allow room for focusing on student engagement, family engagement, and the social-emotional health of students.  Academic goals may be considered. For those of you who want to know all of the expectations you can find them here<\/a>.  It has been recommended by the state and this committee that administrators collaborate with staff to establish school-wide goals. <\/em> Teachers may also choose individual goals in collaboration with their administrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting Semester II, we will be running Advisory every Wednesday. Please see our Advisory list HERE<\/a>. The names highlighted in yellow are our grade-level leaders. This team will be connecting with you regarding Advisory plans and activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first opportunity you will have to meet with your Advisory group will be on February 1st and 2nd for 9th Grade, and February 3rd for 10th – 12th grade. More information will be coming on this, stay tuned!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canvas<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Canvas Support Team Actions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our LPHS Canvas Support Team (Baisch, Spring, Stukel, and Christian) have been continuing to meet to discuss grading, Semester 1 ending, and looking ahead to Semester 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will be sending out their Office Hours<\/strong> for this week and next week. This will be for staff to use as support as we transition back. The team is asking staff use these office hours as drop in virtually<\/em> as not disrupt them in their classrooms or add more contact. They are asking that if you need help outside these hours to email them and allow 24 hours to respond back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are also focusing on the shared checklist<\/a> for end of semester 1, and transition to semester 2<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Metrics –<\/strong> You might want to take a look at the Willamette ESD Reopening Metric Dashboard<\/a>. Select Deschutes County to review our area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quarantine Time Change<\/strong> – Quarantine time has changed from 14-days to 10-days when an individual has been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

COVID-19 Notification Process in Schools<\/strong> – Notification of a positive COVID-19 case (in a school building) will be sent out to parents and school staff within 24 hours of case confirmation. A separate communication will be sent to parents in cohorts affected by the case. Information in this communication will include quarantine instructions (if warranted).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masks –<\/strong> Please make sure your staff knows that the district provides masks for them, that they have been delivered to your buildings and where they can access them if they need one. We are still hearing from staff that they believe we are not providing masks and they have to use their personal money to purchase them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For students who cannot wear masks in the general education setting\u2026.For students who are unable to wear a mask (due to a disability and\/or medical condition), precautions need to be taken for the student to safely be in the general education classroom. For example,  students who cannot wear a mask should have an area designated in the classroom specifically for their desk (such as the back of the classroom, near a window, with plexi glass surrounding their desk). Extra precautions should be taken to ensure that the student remains clear of other students while waiting in line to go out to recess, bathroom, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

District PPE – <\/strong>specifically masks and gloves, available for you to request. You should have enough RSSL-approved PPE to provide for every staff member in your building that is needing it. Many of you have already accessed this and have adequate supply on hand. If you haven\u2019t yet, please work with your Office Manager to request what you need. Please make sure your staff understands that the district will supply their mask AND that they know how to get one if they need it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
