While you are there, please take a minute to look at the board introducing our new staff this year; in the event you see them around the building! Please take your coffee and treat&nbsp;<strong>to-go<\/strong>&nbsp;and please no eating in the library. We will start our staff meeting by WebEx at 8:15 AM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reminder that this is the hybrid schedule that we are using &#8211;<\/strong> Please see the new Schedule <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/18NQfbZbswhqsUBZvXbMZ8OoYUh2nxk0v\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Failing in &#8220;the 11th hour&#8221; &#8211;<\/strong> With two weeks asynchronous work, there is a possibility that students may fail in &#8220;the 11th hour&#8221; if something is assigned on&nbsp;February 3rd or 4th. Typically this isn&#8217;t as much of a concern because we normally have finals, and most assignments are done a few days prior.&nbsp;Please consider <strong>February 2nd<\/strong> to be your &#8220;End Date&#8221; and not to assign anything new or at least no major assignments where a student could fail at the last moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-blue-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">To Do<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">SLGG&#8217;s<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-blue-color\"> <\/span>(Due February 26th)<\/strong>&#8211; <strong><span style=\"color:#a90366\" class=\"has-inline-color\">SLGG&#8217;s are ready to go!<\/span> <\/strong>They are now in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/bendlapine.tedk12.com\/perform\/Login.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">TalentEd<\/a>. Staff are required to have two SLGG&#8217;s, but the state has shifted the requirements for the year to allow room for focusing on student engagement, family engagement, and the social-emotional health of students.&nbsp; Academic goals may be considered. This will be for staff to use as support as we transition back. Select Deschutes County to review our area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Quarantine Time Change<\/strong> &#8211; Quarantine time has changed from 14-days to 10-days when an individual has been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>COVID-19 Notification Process in Schools<\/strong> &#8211; Notification of a positive COVID-19 case (in a school building) will be sent out to parents and school staff within 24 hours of case confirmation. A separate communication will be sent to parents in cohorts affected by the case. Information in this communication will include quarantine instructions (if warranted).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Masks &#8211;<\/strong> Please make sure your staff knows&nbsp;that the&nbsp;district provides masks&nbsp;for them, that they have been&nbsp;delivered to your buildings&nbsp;and&nbsp;where they can access them&nbsp;if they need one. We are still hearing from staff that they believe we are not providing masks and they have to use their personal money to purchase them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For students who cannot wear masks in the general education setting\u2026.For students who are unable to wear a mask (due to a disability and\/or medical condition), precautions need to be taken for the student to safely be in the general education classroom. For example,&nbsp; students who cannot wear a mask should have an area designated in the classroom specifically for their desk (such as the back of the classroom, near a window, with plexi glass surrounding their desk). Extra precautions should be taken to ensure that the student remains clear of other students while waiting in line to go out to recess, bathroom, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>District PPE &#8211; <\/strong>specifically masks and gloves, available for you to request. You should have enough RSSL-approved PPE to provide for every staff member in your building that is needing it. Many of you have already accessed this and have adequate supply on hand.
