On Wednesday, February 3rd, six NJROTC Cadets took part in the Secretary of the Navy Marksmanship Competition. This competition, which pits marksman from all of the United States as well as Cadets from Germany, Italy, Guam and several other locations, is conducted each winter. The Cadets shot precision air rifles from the prone, kneeling and standing positions, and were scored on 30 individual targets. The targets were sent to the Secretary of the Navy Staff and will be scored by the end of the month. Cadets will typically travel to compete 6-8 times per season but with the restrictions on in person competition this was the next best thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total there were six Cadets who participated – Freshmen Eden Kennedy and Kaden Hampton, Sophomores Jordan Osterhoudt and Nikaija Irving and Juniors Aiden and Kyrsten Kenline. Among the group, Nikaija Irving was top male shot and Eden Kennedy was the top female shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IPSI<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IPSI UPDATE – <\/strong>This message\/email went out to our students on Friday (2\/19) . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are writing to give you a brief update on IPSI for credit recovery.  Thank you all who have signed up to take advantage of this program – we are so excited about your commitment to your education.  If you haven’t already signed up, we strongly encourage you to do so!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to some logistical issues with scheduling, IPSI for credit recovery will start on Monday, March 1st.<\/strong>  If you are in Cohort B, your IPSI credit recovery will start on Tuesday, March 2.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please attend your advisory on Wednesday, February 24th at 9:44 am to complete a survey to sign up for your primary credits to recover.  You can see what classes you need to recover by going back to the initial email we sent on 2\/17\/21.  We encourage you to prioritize your core classes to recover first, then any electives (if you have core classes to recover).  Core classes include any math, science, and English courses. <\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, you can check your transcript by going to StudentVue > Course History > “Unofficial Transcript” in a blue button.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ONE-PAGERS: You should be receiving emails from our students currently in Study Skills classes. The email should contain their One-Pager paper and video explaining it. These are meant to help you get to know something personal about the student and how you can help them in class. Plus, it helps build advocacy skills. They really hate doing the videos, so please give them positive feedback!!! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DATA COLLECTION: Some of our students’ IEP goals require us to collect data from teachers about classroom performance, work completion, etc. You will receive an email to complete a google form that is really short. There is the option to add comments but is not required. Please base your response on your most recent class\/interaction with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
