Here are two documents that will help&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1Ufy6BvbKFLIlz-a0k8-zI_kET8XfuqEk\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">explain this code<\/a>&nbsp;and point you to see&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1DwZKiyHapmKK7XhrKZ3985YzhpbE62Mh\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">when a student is expected back to school after a C19 absence<\/a>. The C19 attendance code does NOT necessarily mean a student has COVID, it just means they may have COVID related symptoms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>State Testing Update &#8211;<\/strong> Many of you may have heard narratives in the news that the US Dept. of Education is requiring state tests this spring or that they are not approving any waivers to state testing. None of that is quite correct. Here are a few thing we <em>do<\/em> know\u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Oregon has submitted a waiver from testing this year<\/li><li>ODE has not heard whether the waiver has been approved, and they will be working directly with USDOE in the coming weeks on the waiver and testing requirements<\/li><li>We do not know definitively if or when state testing will be required<\/li><li>If testing is required, ELA and Mathematics tests will be substantially shortened from previous years<\/li><li>If testing is required, it will be completely decoupled from accountability<\/li><li>Oregon\u2019s test window will not open prior to April 13<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-blue-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">To Do<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-black-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\">Hawk News<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sophomore, Kennedy May, entered the Central Oregon Scholastic Art &amp; Writing awards contest and won a Gold Key for her untitled art piece. Specifically, the post speaks to the importance and power of explaining&nbsp;<em><strong>why<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;students are being taught&nbsp;<em><strong>what<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;they are being taught. When students are explicitly taught the application of the teaching point engagement increases.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/dean.richards\/\" target=\"_blank\">Supporting Secondary Instruction<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-blue-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Advisory<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:24px\">IPSI<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stace will post new IPSI lists on the commons windows at student services Monday morning. Teachers will have access to these lists so they can tell their first period students (Monday &amp; Tuesday) where to go for IPSI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Goals for IPSI:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To ensure that every bus rider, or student without a ride until 3:45, has a targeted placement in IPSI #1 and #2 so they have a safe place to be at school and the instructional support is purposeful.&nbsp;<strong>For Safety<\/strong><\/li><li>To offer targeted instructional support for students who are credit deficient due to CDL or those who need added support in subjects during hybrid.&nbsp;<strong>For Success<\/strong><\/li><li>To offer targeted instructional support for any student at LPHS who wishes to supplement their learning.&nbsp;<strong>For Supplement<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-black-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Sped \/ 504 \/ LEAD &amp; Equity \/HU (historically underserved)<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Giving back!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our Life Skills staff &amp; students have been giving back to the Community.<br>Due to COVID they have had to change their classroom program. Since they are no longer able to transport students in vehicles to go out on work crews, they have had to get creative. What better than giving back to our community? Our students have been walking off campus to help clean up and clear around local businesses.
