But there are still more students. 78 next year Sophomores have completed forecasting, 72 next year Juniors, and 56 next year seniors.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why is Forecasting Important?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>This determines the classes YOU are teaching for the 21-22 school year.<\/li><li>We are checking their selections along with their transcripts after they submit their form and making corrections as needed.&nbsp; We are then emailing them the corrections\/their final selections so they have the correct classes when they register next week&nbsp;<strong><u>so students have the correct classes they need to stay on track to graduate<\/u><\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How You Can Help:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Please remind students to complete their forecasting forms.<\/li><li>Promote your classes.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are sending out a reminder email to students\/parents today with the links to the forms and video tutorials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of our&nbsp;<strong>professional development conversation with Doug Reeves&nbsp;<\/strong>Wednesday, he described the opportunity to participate in a&nbsp;<em>problem of practice&nbsp;<\/em>series this spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are interested in joining Doug Reeves and his team at\u00a0<em>Creative-Leadership-Solutions<\/em>\u00a0as you work on a challenge, define a problem of practice, and test out interventions and ideas as you create an action research project, then sign up for the OSU-Cascades class.\u00a0 It is a 2-credit class that is offered in Spring 2021 (see the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1SuOHifHUkWpVZ2FeqdkR4116eGL9J2w_\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">syllabus<\/a>\u00a0for dates and course requirements).\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1hyxV9bR-kpp4-JoSdRgJ_0hkr8f_Dp7D\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Registration\u00a0<\/a>is currently open but will\u00a0<strong>close on March 31st.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To register for the class, complete the registration and application form and upload them to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/17nnAMFGAGPCgGzTcoKMoc9n2wNdY17xH?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">this google folder.<\/a>&nbsp; If you have attended a BLS-OSU Cascades class in the last 12 months, then you do not need to complete the application form.&nbsp; There is an initial $35 application fee which will be billed by OSU-C once they receive your application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, the district will compensate teachers for the five after school sessions (including May) and the time to prep for the May share out. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have any questions, please contact Michele Oakes&nbsp; (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:michele.oakes@bend.k12.or.us\" target=\"_blank\">michele.oakes@bend.k12.or.us<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-blue-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">To Do<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-black-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-heading\">News<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In case you missed it,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bendbulletin.com\/localstate\/bend-schools-unique-grading-style-could-point-to-future-for-district\/article_312572fe-7de1-11eb-90e1-2b2e7177c5ae.html\" target=\"_blank\">here is an article<\/a>\u00a0regarding\u00a0<strong>our district\u2019s look at grading practices<\/strong>\u00a0(with a highlight of our schools with standards-based grading) that was published last Saturday in The Bulletin.
