Informational Gathering<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a suicidal<\/li><li>Identify ways to better protect students, including using the newly released Suicide Risk Assessment Replacement Toolkit<\/li><li>Explain best practices, including relaying information to parents\/guardians to give them the best chance of keeping their child safe<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While we will still use our BLS Suicide Risk Screening Process, we thought this webinar was informative as we look to update our Adi&#8217;s Act policies.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cohealthcouncil.org\/mini-grants\/\">COHC Mini- Grants <\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below see information from <strong>Bruce Abernathy (Grant Writer) <\/strong>at the Ed Center:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The District was quite successful last year in applying to Central Oregon Health Council (COHC) as part of their <a href=\"https:\/\/cohealthcouncil.org\/mini-grants\/\">Mini Grants program.<\/a>\u00a0 I estimate we secured close to 20 grants ranging from $1,500 up to $5,000 to help furnish various BRYT Rooms around the District.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Applications are due the 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of the month, through an online portal, and schools still eligible to apply for up to $5,000, but I strongly recommend NOT going after that full amount unless you are a new school and have not already received a COHC grant for your BRYT Program.\u00a0 I think they are trying to \u201cspread the wealth\u201d a bit.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>From April 1, 2022, to December 31, 2024, organizations (i.e. BLPSD) may receive up to a maximum of $30,000 in mini-grant funding across all workgroups, as funds are available.\u00a0\u00a0I know that Ponderosa BRYT was just awarded $5,000 so I think that means as a District we have $25,000 left so there might need to be some prioritization on our part before applications are submitted.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>COHC really likes to see organizations that are \u201clearning communities\u201d so rather than just saying, \u201cWe need more X and Y\u201d try to weave in \u201cBecause of what we learned during our first year of implementation, we have determined that we need the following\u2026..\u201d\u00a0<br><\/li><li>Mini-Grant projects must address specific metrics that are tied to specific Workgroups.\u00a0 Unlike last year when all six workgroups offered Mini-Grants, now only two of them are relevant for BRYT: 1) Behavioral Health \u2013 Increase Access and Coordination and 2) Upstream Prevention \u2013 Promotion of Individual Well-Being.\u00a0 Proposals should be geared to one or more of the following highlighted metrics.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Behavioral Health \u2013 Increase Access and Coordination&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\" class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Increase availability of behavioral health providers in marginalized areas of the region\u00a0<\/li><li>Increase timeliness and engagement when referred from primary care to specialty behavioral health\u00a0<\/li><li>Standardize screening processes for appropriate levels of follow-up care across services\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Upstream Prevention \u2013 Promotion of Individual Well-being&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\" class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Increase letter name recognition at kindergarten\u00a0<\/li><li>Increase third-grade reading proficiency\u00a0<\/li><li>Increase the proportion of pregnancies that are planned\u00a0<\/li><li>Increase two-year-old immunization rates\u00a0<\/li><li>Establish a regional measure for belonging and measure yearly\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reporting<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 there is a final report due at the end of this school year after the project has ended\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size
