What is Sources of Strength<\/a>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sources of Strength is a strength-based, comprehensive wellness program that focuses on suicide prevention but impacts other issues such as substance abuse and violence. The program is based on a relational connections model that uses teams of Peer Leaders mentored by Adult Advisors to change peer social norms about help seeking and encourages students to individually assess and develop strengths in their life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our goal in Bend-La Pine Schools is to integrate Sources of Strength into our middle and high schools as a part of our Adi\u2019s Act comprehensive district student suicide prevention plan, with support from our Healthy Schools initiative and public health strategists.
