I hope everyone is having a great start to their year! We have some very exciting news to share with you, Central Oregon Community College and Oregon State University-Cascades invite you to the 2023 VIP Luncheon on December 5th<\/sup>! This lunch will be for the amazing college and career staff, school counselors, and administrators in recognition of your efforts that promote educational opportunities for high school students. We can\u2019t wait to celebrate you! <\/p>\n\n\n\n The registration link and invitation for the luncheon is below. Save the date!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Looking forward to celebrating you all in December!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kayleen, Sarah, & Sofia<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hello BLP Counselors; As we near the end of the first semester it is time that we start noticing students who are struggling, at risk of quitting, not passing classes or not gaining credits to graduate on time. I would love the opportunity to discuss how our alternative high school works to get those students back on track. We are a 1-of-a-kind high school located here in Bend. Our focus is on credit recovery and helping youth find a more positive path in life. I can assure you our 22-week residential and 12-month post-residential program works. We have an almost 90% success rate with our students. Our school is tuition free, all inclusive, completely accredited and students have the opportunity to earn 8-10 credits which will all carry over to their home area schools. Please contact me so that I can help you help our young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Oregon Youth Challenge is having an orientation\/open house and application seminar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Saturday, November 18th<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n Orientation 10am-12pm ~ Come find out what we\u2019re all about and how we help students get caught up and back in school on target to graduate on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Open House ~ 12:30pm \u2013 3:30pm ~ Tour the facility and meet some of our current students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Application Help ~ 12:30pm \u2013 3:30pm ~ We\u2019re here to help families with the application process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n All are welcome. We will continue our work towards defining and aligning our agreements and curriculum for Tier 1 and Tier 2 school counseling programming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Linked here<\/a> is the presentation from COCC College Now and Financial Aid<\/p>\n\n\n\n College Now Parent FAQ<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n COCC AAOT Worksheets<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n We will continue to work on our HS CSCP Agreement Document over the course of the next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We have scheduled our Use of Time Data collection for November 13-17 and November 27-December 1st<\/sup>.\u00a0 We are asking that all counselors complete this\u00a0data gathering process. \u00a0Along with our Student Conference Data (Synergy Data) that you have inputted thus far, we will be sharing the compiled data with administrators and level leads in December.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here is the information below with instructions on how to complete this process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here is a link the Google Folder. In<\/a> it you will find a folder for each school and \u201cUse of Time Sheets\u201d for each counselor at that school. There is one sheet for November 13-17 and another for November 27-December 1<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Use of Time Calculators are really easy to use, just put an X in the correct box for how you spent your time during that 15-minute period for each day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Here is a link to the agreements for our agreed activities for how to input and where<\/a>. Please review this document PRIOR<\/strong> to completing the Use of Time data collection. We need to make sure we are all calibrated on how to input the data into the form. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Again, we will be sharing this data with each other as well as administration and level leads.
