I have the privilege of visiting our amazing libraries and am able to see a plethora of fascinating events taking place with our students. Today was no exception.
High Desert Middle School was having classes come through each period for a Progressive Book Tasting. Each table was beautifully set with place settings and an array of books with a different genre at each table. Students were given 90 seconds to peruse the books, then additional time to discuss the books and write down any titles that they might want to read. Once they finished at one table, they progressed to the next table to repeat the activity. After the students had a chance to browse the books at each table, they had the opportunity to check them out. It was not by accident that this event was held just before Thanksgiving so that students would be encouraged to read over their break!
