I want to express a heart-felt thank you for a great birthday this past week. I was “warned” that Highland is s special place to be for a birthday and once again that rang true.
Digital Citizenship Week – Message from Christie Boen
As many of you may know, October 15-19 is Digital Citizenship Week. This year, we are hoping for 99.9% classroom participation! We’ve tried to make lessons as easy as possible for teachers to implement in the classroom with your students. Our hope is that these lessons lead to rich, meaningful conversations about digital citizenship and how it affects students’ daily lives.

Leadership Meeting
This Friday will be a good time for a leadership meeting from 8:05 to 8:45 in my office. One change I would like to suggest for Leadership is to share the responsibility with your team and split up the meetings between your team members. Our objective is to address school-wide issues and concerns and the purpose of these meetings is to be a problem-solving team so please come with solutions. Please talk with your team to determine who will attend and email me the issue or concern for our agenda by Wednesday afternoon.
Building Blocks – FINALLY!!
We were finally able to introduce the building blocks today after a 6 month ordeal! These blocks were purchased by the PTO back in February however due to a manufacturing problem they did not arrive until after the school year ended. I’ve been waiting for our turn to get Michael (the kindest painter I have ever met) to come back here to do the work and we now have a builder area designated.
The two rules I am sharing with students;
- Blocks stay in the builder area.
- Blocks are for building only (not lightsabers, swords, axes, etc.)
