Conferences: <\/strong>Thank you very much for the thoughtful effort and time you put into preparing for your conferences.  Great work, now go get some well-deserved R&R!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PTO Update:<\/strong>  If you have any PTO board members in your classes, be sure to show them some appreciation for taking care of us in regards to all the food.  A lot of communication and effort was put into providing a variety of snacks and meals to make these long days easier.  Taelor Little deserves a huge shout out as she was instrumental in coordinating everything – there were a lot of contributors, but she was definitely the backbone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SRP Staff Training:<\/strong> The 27th does not work, so we are looking for an alternative date for this – stay tuned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staff Absences: <\/strong>In order to help communicate who has a sub or possibly a lack of a substitute, we brought back the whiteboard in the office. It is located near the staff mailboxes and will have who is gone and who is subbing for them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highland Norms:  <\/strong>Our leadership team started the process of re-establishing some building-wide norms.  While we did not see 100% participation in the survey there is more than enough to start the process and you are still welcome to provide input.  Our goal is to use strengths-based language to develop the norms we will bring back to the whole staff.  It\u2019s important to remember this always a process, so it\u2019s never truly finished, and the process is as important as the product.  The following link is still active;  Input<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall Culminations: <\/strong>Your culmination times and locations should all be displayed on the google calendar and we added your set up info into our \u201cSchoolDude\u201d app.   If anything changes regarding your set up needs, please be sure to communicate those ahead of time so we can accurately reflect them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SLGGs: <\/strong>I still don\u2019t have the more user-friendly forms for you, but I am trying.  Hang in there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs):  <\/strong>Are you interested in connecting with colleagues who can relate to your identity and experiences?  Looking for an opportunity to build community, network, develop recommendations for more inclusive workplaces, and seek joy and fun<\/em> with colleagues who share similar experiences and identities?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jennifer Hauth\u2013Social Emotional & Mental Well-Being \u2013 <\/strong>Check out this awesome short video<\/a> on teaching students active listening.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Harmony Meet Up<\/a> or Buddy Up<\/a> is an opportunity for students to practice active listening<\/em>. During your morning meeting consider having specific students share<\/em> and giving every student a chance to share during the week at meet up on different days<\/em>. When only a few students share aloud you will have time to have students learn to practice active listening with their classmates.<\/em> Here are the response prompts<\/a> from Harmony to help students learn to respond to fellow classmates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our next assembly is coming up on November 4th at 1:30. We will NOT have a spirit day that day as we will have just had costume day. I am also assuming the district will have college\/career day in Novemember as well. Thanks for your flexibility! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
