District SIW Workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Spring District SIW options are now available on Performance Matters<\/a> and ready for registration. Our dates for the Spring sessions are 2\/13, 3\/13, and 4\/17 from 2:45 \u2013 4 p.m. Remember, you are signing up for a three part SIW series. There is a keypad in the front foyer. The gym is treated as a separate security space than the main building so it will be armed\/disarmed separately from the main building (however there are codes to arm\/disarm both buildings simultaneously when necessary). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Annoying Alarm Beeping<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I won\u2019t bore you with the details, but unfortunately the annoying chirping sound coming from the fire panel is not going away anytime soon. The good news is that it is not interfering the security system and it\u2019s a false signal (no real danger)- so we can do our best to ignore it until they can fix the problem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Fire Safety\u2013<\/strong>On Friday, January 4th, the district sent a fire & life safety message <\/a>in the Staff Spotlight<\/em> to all staff, reminding them of several important practices. Please feel free to pass this along to anyone you think I miss who would want to be involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mid-Year SLGGs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n As we reach the end of semester 1, it\u2019s time to consider a quick review of progress on SLGGs. I have a copy of your goals on file, so if you need a copy for yourself, please let me know. Since most all of you did these as teams, we can meet as a team to examine any winter data (Dibels, EasyCBM, writing scores) to see how students are progressing and this counts as a professional mini. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Here\u2019s a potential agenda and questions to address;<\/p>\n\n\n\n Agenda<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please have one of your team-members set up a morning for us to meet in the next few weeks after we have the winter data available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n CPR\/1st Aid<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We have not set up a training date yet (it\u2019s more of a challenge than I anticipated), however Miller has one set up for Wednesday February 20th from 3:30-7:30 and they need people. If there are a handful (6 to be accurate) of you willing to join this training, then we could reach our required ratio. We currently have this SIW scheduled for a Future Ready Team day. DHS is in the process of implementing a statewide Child Abuse Hotline, which will be completed in April 2019, but it has already been started in Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook Counties beginning on November 1, 2018. The reporting number has changed. It is now 541-693-2854 <\/strong>statewide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Genetics fascinates me! In the last month, puberty increased its presence in our household exponentially. All three of our children are growing up so quickly, but some key milestones were experienced by our oldest son as he passed me in height (just barely), got curly hair again and (not puberty-caused) got his braces off. The recent natural curling of Mason’s hair prompted us to look for some old photos of his curly hair from before.
