Remember, you don\u2019t have to do it all! Pick and choose what works for you and your class. Also, don\u2019t hesitate to reach out if you want more or something specific. I have a lot of SEL and Mindfulness resources that I would love to share.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of today, I now have access to Highland\u2019s social media accounts (Facebook and now Instagram). I want to keep this space as positive and informative as possible. I would LOVE to share some Storyline successes in this space. So\u2026 if you have pictures of artwork or your freeze that you&#8217;re willing to share with me, that would be fantastic. Thank you so much!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Try this\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I find a lot of our conversations starting out with this..\u201dWhat do they expect\u2026\u201d or \u201cWhat\u2019s the district\u2019s expectation\u2026\u201d&nbsp; When I find myself saying or thinking this way, I am now trying to turn this around and look at the problem at hand and then ask myself, \u201cWhat do I expect of myself and my staff in this situation?\u201d&nbsp; So I am going to suggest we all start our sentences out with \u201cWhat do I expect\u201d or \u201cWhat do we expect\u201d&#8230;when we encounter problem x?&nbsp; Approaching our common problems with this attitude can give us a little more sense of control and make better use of our time.&nbsp; If we get guidance that tells us to do something differently then we can incorporate it into our own plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Observations and Evaluations\u2026 <\/strong>\u00a0I included the material from Skip in the last update and I just wanted to circle back with my own thoughts on this.\u00a0 I know these are more challenging times to teach and they will be equally challenging times to observe and provide meaningful feedback.\u00a0 The evaluation process is still under discussion at the district level, but for our purposes, let\u2019s keep these in a low stress, low stakes environment.\u00a0 More than ever teachers (and principals) need support in all sorts of areas, so the purpose for observations should be perceived as a support strategy. We appreciate the work of our care coaches, and Erin Taylor &#8230;learnathome.hdesd.org<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Conferences<\/strong> &#8211; October conferences are canceled and these days will be instructional days.&nbsp; Communication to families will go out soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1tFgrZY3f9rJBKzbarPELazaqtFjH_T_Sj_277xKOZvQ\/edit?usp=sharing\">Meeting Schedule<\/a> &#8211; I finally came up with a meeting schedule for our different teams for the year.&nbsp; The chances of this meeting schedule changing are high, but we\u2019ll give it a go.&nbsp; We\u2019ll get these on the google calendar soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>EBISS &#8211;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We should begin our first round of EBISS meetings prior to Thanksgiving break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goals include the following;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Examine the progress of the whole group and the small groups.<\/li><li>Identify how to organize and plan instruction to make sure all students are receiving appropriate instruction.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Identify the needed materials and resources to design instruction for the next cycle.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Master Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that we have some time, I\u2019ve been \u201cplaying\u201d a little with the master schedule to see if there are tweaks that can cause improvement.\u00a0 I am at a point where I need to share with a team of you for input.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Safety Team<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our meeting notes are posted on the board in the staff room.&nbsp; One message this team would really like you to hear is this, \u201cPlease clean up after yourself in the staff room.\u201d&nbsp; (This group has also sanctioned some public-shaming strategies to make sure you don\u2019t leave your dirty dishes or food in the sink &#8211; consider this a fair warning.&nbsp; (= )<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Staff Room Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Clean up your own mess.<\/em><\/li><li>There is no disposal in our sink.&nbsp; Throw all food out in trash and use a paper towel to mop out any food you drop in the sink.<\/li><li><em>Clean up your own mess.<\/em><\/li><li>Rinse all dishes and place in dishwasher.&nbsp; We do not recommend air-drying dishes on the rack.<\/li><li><em>Clean up your own mess.<\/em><\/li><li>Use a paper towel to wipe out the microwave after each use.&nbsp; Cover things with a paper towel when heating to minimize splatter.<\/li><li><em>Clean up your own mess.<\/em><\/li><li>If you use the tables, then please spray and wipe them down.<\/li><li><em>Clean up your own mess.<\/em><\/li><li>Oh yeah\u2026.<em>Clean up your own mess. <\/em>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TLC<\/strong> &#8211; Here is the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/126TCUaV6ekH6L19dXQBYWtzDmkIKEHRw8bp-6HQpbjY\/edit?usp=sharing\">link <\/a>to TLC Happenings for October 9th, 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are a couple of tech tips that will hopefully take less than <em>two minutes<\/em> to read&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Are you getting ready to start <strong>Wonders<\/strong>?
