Our character trait for December is Generosity<strong>! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Lexia Celebrations:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have a lot to celebrate when examining our Lexia progress as a K-5 school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/YxRB56Pq6Azts_agjxPqRtvJ1OrMxiI0zlsQlYaK6rGqeDxSN_B2weDSoBqtyeJcCO0WYjVRrHWh8y42-5SU23PMS2K7fTNbbxt1HNRbISjsvtGfHIwKvMQxa98wTw6jAIA9KcfE\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Highland is leading the charge in our use of Lexia to address unfinished learning for our students due to the pandemic.&nbsp; When you examine the graphic above, where usage is high we have a high percentage of students on track to be proficient or better with their grade level material.&nbsp; When students are well-informed of the importance and necessity of completing their units, their usage and performance goes up [this falls under the high-leverage teaching practices of Clear learning intentions and success criteria as well as and building student ownership of their learning.]&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/Dji-uNDDB5zjfSveXyRjsR9osJ_KHvQkPtgeXkW8aVA8yEH9NcYfQnRA7E9aOe1zVLke7awnTMrnXkQgkAQEVYVJvkOdR-_8J3Zez-C97vQw_3bsWX5TelH64aCvkFhDfEavIA0A\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The graphic above shows our growth from the start of the year to now with the percentage of students moving into grade level content or higher.&nbsp; Although I know there are reservations about the use of iPads, it\u2019s really difficult to argue against such highly individualized learning for all students at all levels.&nbsp; This program provides such varied opportunities for learning that are just not humanly possible to provide in a normal classroom school day.&nbsp; <strong>Again, the goal\/intention is not to constantly advocate for more Lexia or more Dreambox, we are advocating for the \u201cjust-right\u201d amount for each child.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dreambox Celebrations:<\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/YbssXpioO6uWJT09KlmRaArsDrfUtXZ54BZ7Ioz6ydOMNPhaGeCsDLL341DPZdE50VtqgAmZEIKlmiCSVgu0HYD49AP7uvL03otkHUZOuCOs3CEbP3eLNdWo9-ZMybZgJJxyESlB\" width=\"624\" height=\"213\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The graphic above shows a nice contrast between the group of students completing the usage goal of 5 or more lessons per week versus two other groups.&nbsp; Students completing 5 or more lessons are progressing at almost twice the rate as students completing between 2 and 5 lessons per week.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/baV5-cgdBkl7Gxf9yNvRKtJXh2eKInm1m16oBRypIhq8iO92bisXIxrAs6rEeTcnbLIIo2RpS2Oa1pmT8ToVoHIW5RSmtE0P9TeTMbCp0jJCH-khox2vF7GZDDGkDJNvap3Gt0U-\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Above you can see our percentage of students moving into the \u201con-track\u201d category for being proficient or better with grade level content.&nbsp; 86% of our students are currently on track with being proficient with their grade level content as of the end of November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hiring Update<\/strong>: We are planning on doing our interviews for the secretary position on Wednesday 12\/8 in the late afternoon.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Storyline Classroom Funds<\/strong>: Ashley is working on these for you this week.&nbsp;
