How\u2019s it going?<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Info from Heidi and the Highland Culture of Care Team: <\/strong>Our character trait for the month of June is Celebration! This is a great time of year to celebrate how far your students have come this year. It\u2019s the first \u201cfull year\u201d we\u2019ve had in two years! Speaking of celebrating\u2026. We are excited for our student appreciation day <\/strong>on June 10th<\/strong>. This link<\/a> will take you to a sign up for a few things I\u2019d love help with and the rough schedule. I know this day will feel dysregulating to some (students and staff) so try and take it in stride and expect it to be a fun (and maybe a little wild) day! I have pictures of last year if anyone would like to get a feel of the day or simple decorating ideas. Don\u2019t forget we want to keep this a surprise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another celebration we are planning for is an all school assembly on the last day of school at 10:00 in the gym. I think classes should be able to spread out pretty well. We will be putting together a video using the pictures teacher submitted for the yearbook (send me more if you want to!), celebrate OBOB, Milage Club, sing the school song, birthday song and say good-bye to any staff that wont be returning next year. We could even do one more send off to our 5th graders. We are open to any other ideas too! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newscasts: <\/strong>I have gone through all of the 5th graders who where interested in being a newscaster this year! Yahoo, thank you \u2158 team for letting me borrow your students all year long. I am hoping to make it even better next year by having an entire \u201cproduction crew\u201d. Stay tuned!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building Security: <\/strong>FYI – all schools are now directed to keep our building doors locked throughout the day (even within the fenceline).  We will open one door (our cafeteria door) at specific times of the day to allow access to the cafeteria and bathrooms while students are outside.  It will be extremely important that everyone ensures they are following our procedures from earlier in the year and leading students during transitions.  Please be sure you have your ID badges and keys.  We will also discontinue taking students outside the secure perimeter during transitions.  You will need to retrain the students for these final two weeks to make those transitions within our fence line.  No more using the front doors of the gym or main building.  Thank you so much for your prompt attention to these changes.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kids Inc Reminder:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Please remind those teachers who are interested in signing up for Kids inc to sign up by June 7th on the BPRD site\u00a0AND<\/strong>\u00a0to also complete our\u00a0internal survey<\/a>. Bend Park and Rec needs to know who our staff members are so they can try to accommodate them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Placements: <\/strong>2nd round on Wednesday, June 8.\u00a0 Same schedule as last round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

iPad Roll In: <\/strong> Monday June 13th – Tuesday June 14th.   Please see Debbie\u2019s email from Tuesday 5\/24 for more details.  Huge Thank you to Debbie for organizing this process!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dibels Wrap: <\/strong> Shout out to everyone for their help getting this process done on a Memorial day weekend stretch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furniture\/stage:<\/strong> Kudos to Zach, Jenn and Heidi for getting our stage ready to go!!  And thank you to Debbie, for taking in some of the excess furniture to the library. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Kudos;<\/strong> to Ukiah and her Roots & Shoots gang for raising around $1100 with the Vans sale!  Thanks also to Solve, Sanjay, Sara and Jak Green for the donated samples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
