Please be sure to complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1L_8pLqORa6SoQlHk5q2EchcFmHInxrYHgguMgJC5Dz8\/edit?usp=sharing\">google doc schedule for your class<\/a>. Let me know if you have any questions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Retention-<\/span><\/strong> With the events of the last year and conferences coming up soon, I anticipate a heightened interest from parents regarding retention. <strong>PLEASE DO NOT BRING UP RETENTION ABOUT ANY STUDENT DURING CONFERENCES. <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We have heard more than the typical interest in retention for the next school year.<\/li>\n<li>Retention will be handled the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bend.k12.or.us\/district\/organization\/policies-search\/2012\/02\/ike-ar-retention-double-promotion\">same way as in past years<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Teachers should not bring up the topic of retention at conferences.<\/li>\n<li>If a parent brings up retention, the teacher should listen to their concern and let them know they will talk with the principal.<\/li>\n<li>If a parent is seriously interested in retention, they can initiate the process by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bend.k12.or.us\/application\/files\/7714\/5287\/6128\/IKE-AR_Appendix_A.pdf\">completing this form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let me know if you have any questions about this&#8230; I&#8217;m always willing to listen to special cases.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Summer School Interest-<\/strong><\/span>Please complete <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSe1jH16NRtga43Fw_6ZzKIrl9XAIG-2jStLh41kt1LnihmLkw\/viewform\">this summer school survey<\/a> if it is something you are interested in doing.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Dream Box\/Lexia-<\/span><\/strong> How&#8217;s the dream box and lexia going? Just a reminder to help students to continue to participate and access these programs. These are both effective and powerful tools in student learning and in helping us to provide appropriate supports for our students. In addition, Laci and I set our SLGG&#8217;s on dream box and lexia participation so if you don&#8217;t want Skip over here lecturing us then help us out!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Template Training-<\/strong><\/span> ICCL&#8217;s are working to schedule a training for template in the near future. This training will be for our ICCL team so that they can support all staff as well as provide PD for new staff and any other who want it. The training is not limited to ICCL&#8217;s and any staff who want to participate are welcome to do so. I will share date\/time\/place when it is scheduled.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Spring Break Sustainability-<\/strong><\/span> The district has sent us <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1nlo7NKqfS4PWbAm-X8reoHGwpujinzng\/view?usp=sharing\">spring break sustainability guidelines<\/a> so that we know procedures and protocols for utilities, etc. over spring break.
