December 1 SIW-<\/span><\/strong> Our SIW on December 1 will be a writing PLC. We will meet in the library and sit in grade levels to work on writing. Your focus should be one of the four PLC questions (What do we expect students to learn? How will we know if they learn? How do we respond if students experience difficulty learning? How do we respond when students do learn?). We are not dictating which question your team will be working on, only that it be around writing. You might be planning the next unit by identifying the power standards addressed in that unit or determining the success criteria for meeting those standards. You might be grading student papers from an end of unit writing assessment. Others might be looking at assessment data to determine which students met the success criteria and which didn’t, and determining what to do with students who did or did not meet the standard. The only thing you need to do to prepare is to determine beforehand what you will be working on and what you agree to have done as a team before December 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staff Partay!!-<\/span><\/strong> December 11th from 3pm-5pm at Trampoline Zone\/Pickle Ball Zone, 63040 NE 18th St, Bend, OR 9770, 541-323-3040 (Lounge is booked from 3pm-6pm) $15.00\/per person. Please sign up and pay by Friday, 11\/12 (or ASAP)<\/a>. Staff, significant others and children are invited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be a no-host bar and pizza to eat. A pickle ball pro will be on hand (see below) to instruct those that have never played before. The total cost is $288 for the courts and $60 for the pickle ball pro. Pizza’s are $10\/per person. (because we are eating pizza they will cook they are waving the rental fee on the lounge) We will start out with 5 pizza’s and order more as we need them so they will be hot. Children can come up and grab a slice or buy food at the cafe downstairs. Total is $448 for the courts, pro & 5 pizzas to start. I need to put 1\/2 down as a deposit. We have 46 staff – that is $9.73\/per person – let’s pad that a little and say $15\/per person would cover the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Title Reading-<\/strong><\/span> Each week, our Title team administers progress monitoring to around 100 students. The team thanks you in advance for helping them with this by allowing your students to leave if\/when a Title team member comes to get a student for progress monitoring. The total time it takes for a student is only about 3 minutes so they won’t miss much for this very important check. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

EBISS-<\/span><\/strong> We are going to suspend EBISS for the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas break. We will pick it up again in January. The new dates will be on the master meeting schedule. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Jennifer Hauth- Director of SEL-<\/span><\/strong> Are you currently using social emotional learning (SEL) curriculum or strategies in your classroom or school building? Please take a moment to apply to be on our SEL steering committee by Friday, December 3rd. We are looking for certified, classified and administrators to serve on the team. Student and family input will be part of the process as well. We will meet monthly beginning in mid-December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
