Congratulations!-<\/strong><\/span> Congratulations to Tami for the birth of her grandson earlier this week!! Future Bronco??<\/p>\n

PLC Dates-  <\/strong><\/span> It was great to visit fifth grade’s PLC meeting on Wednesday and see conversation around the 4 questions. Focused, intentional conversation around standards, assessments and interventions has a powerful impact on student learning. Thanks to those grade levels that have given me their PLC dates\/times. Please do so if you haven’t already. Thank you.<\/p>\n

Meeting Schedule<\/a>–<\/strong><\/span> Meeting schedules<\/a> are challenging due to so many moving pieces in normal years. I think now we have some things in place as a school and district and are able to pencil in some dates and times for meetings throughout the rest of the year. The meeting schedule<\/a> is a live document and can change from time to time, but I will try to give as much notice as possible if that happens. I will also include meetings in my upcoming events and Becky will put on master calendar. Some of these are still TBD but coming soon (SIW, EBISS dates). Shout out to Jesse Andrews for inspiring the colors on the schedule.<\/p>\n

Black History Month-<\/strong><\/span> As you know, February is Black History Month. While we know February should NOT be the only time we highlight black history, it is certainly an opportunity share the significant contributions of black Americans on our nation’s history. Towards that end, Bend La Pine Schools has posted a blog<\/a> with appropriate books and videos for your use.<\/p>\n

Inclement Weather-<\/strong> <\/span> Inclement weather guidelines from HR<\/a><\/p>\n

Pledge of Allegiance- <\/strong><\/span>According to ORS 339.875, we have requirements around the flag salute<\/a>. Please be sure to provide students at least the required weekly opportunity to do the pledge. Thanks!!<\/p>\n

Safe Touch-<\/strong><\/span> We will once again be conducting “Safe Touch” lessons with all classes this year to fulfill the requirements around Erin’s Law. Laci will be coming to classes to deliver this instruction. She will soon be getting trained and we will follow that up with communication about scheduling your classes to have Laci teach.<\/p>\n

PBIS-<\/strong><\/span> A small team from PBIS met Wednesday to revise some of our behavior intervention procedures around oops slips, referrals, problem solving skills, and the like. We are close to having something to share with all staff very soon. In the meantime, thanks to Laci for digging up 50 Free reward ideas<\/a> and Reward ideas<\/a> lists for you to use as you see fit. There are some great ideas for you to spice things up with Bronco Bucks in your class.<\/p>\n

EBISS-<\/strong><\/span> We are hopeful to start our first EBISS on 2\/24. It will look different this year than it has in the past (what isn’t different this year?). We will soon provide everyone with a summary that will include our purpose, format, process, what to do to be prepared and schedule. Look for this in the next week or so.<\/p>\n

Safety Info-<\/strong><\/span> You can find a hard copy of our safety checklist and a hard copy of a 103 page OSHA document (ONE HUNDRED AND THREE PAGES) from the state on our safety bulletin board in the hall between the office and workroom. I know there’s a comment in here somewhere, but I would probably get into trouble.<\/p>\n

SLGG’s-<\/strong><\/span> Please submit your SLGG’s to me either electronically or hard copy by the end of the month. You are welcome to set SLGG’s as a grade level. I will have a short meeting with each of you to review your slgg’s. You don’t need to worry about scheduling that- it’s on me. If your grade does it together, I will try to meet with you all at once- probably stealing a few minutes from your PLC. Thank you!<\/p>\n

Self care has been a bit of a theme for us this year. Although our focus has peaked and waned throughout due to the demands of the day, we still need to remember to take care of ourselves and each other.<\/p>\n
