First Week Accomplished!
What a great first week! In the last five years since I have been at Juniper, our first week has never gone so smooth. Kudos to Sandra and Marlene for making the front office tick like a Swiss watch. We have been able to get our students safely on busses and picked up by parents in record setting time.
KG students are now being picked up on the ramp on the Lower Turf side of Building-E. We are doing this to create a more secure and less chaotic pick up zone for our KG students. The gates by the loading zone will remain locked during this time.
I was able to get into most of your classes on Friday to get a feel for your students. The one thing I noticed in all classrooms was a positive, trusting, and safe culture that you have created in the first few days. Great job on that. When kids feel safe to take intellectual risks, they will strive to learn more.
Our rollercoaster student numbers is finally settling down…whew! At the moment, we are staying put, with no additional KG classes and no blends. A few classes are bigger than we’d like, but I am working on support for those teams
Remember to sign up for Ashley’s OSU Nutrition Handwashing Lessons on the Google Doc that Maria shared.
I am planning on introducing and talking about this blog at the staff meeting on Tuesday @ 8am. Please remember to bring your laptop NOT YOUR iPAD, so I can show you how to subscribe to it.
Lindsley Gehrig and the coaching staff will be available tomorrow to help with any issues with ConnectEd. This is great that they are making themselves available. This link provides a help guide: HELP
Here is a fun and inspirational quick read called “I wish my teacher knew”
Thanks and see you tomorrow!

Welcome to Juniper’s Blog
I hope you are having an wonderful Labor Day weekend and enjoying yourself before we kick off another great year at Juniper. Last week was incredibly busy and a lot of work to get our classes completed and ready for Open House. We had a great turn out and the PTO did an amazing job with the Jump Back to Juniper theme on Lower Turf. We had bouncy houses, ice cream, and lots of community resources for our parents.
I am trying to do something a bit different this year for my weekly communication to everyone. Instead of the Weekly Wildcat, I am going to use this blog as our primary weekly information source. This blog will be dynamic, so you will need to check it often. The WW will be imbedded into the blog and it will still be posted in the bathroom for the best visibility (I’m not sure how yet!). Please take a look at ‘this week’s happenings’ for all the information happening this week.
Gary Timms shared the below video about Hope. Please take a look at it when you get a chance. It is a nice reminder of why we do what we do.
