This is culturally responsive AND creates a sense of belonging. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mynamemyidentity.org\/\"><strong><em>mynamemyidentity.org<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, by pronouncing names correctly you can build positive relationships in the classroom, which are crucial for healthy social, psychological and educational outcomes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4TXgaQRc5Ew&amp;t=73s\"><strong><em>Video: The importance of names and saying them correctly: \u00a1Color\u00edn Colorado<\/em><\/strong><\/a><strong><em>! In one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edutopia.org\/article\/welcoming-students-smile\"><strong><em>study<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, when teachers started class by welcoming students at the door, academic engagement increased by 20 percentage points and disruptive behavior decreased by 9 percentage points.&nbsp; Why? Research shows that greeting students at the door bolsters <strong><em>a feeling of belonging<\/em><\/strong> and a readiness to learn. It\u2019s also a great way to get to know your students and for language learners to practice their social skills in a safe and supportive way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-blue-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Looking for more support?
