Limit to the first 10 teachers.&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/Kfgjosx3CKYWhWnf6\">Please sign up here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bend Science Station professional development opportunity<br><\/strong>Over the past few years, they realigned the Amplify curriculum for grades 2-5 to make it manageable and relevant for Bend-La Pine teachers. In addition, they designed POP Science, which includes a short sequence of NGSS-aligned, hands-on science lessons for each grade level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This January, they will conduct teacher \u201crefresher\u201d trainings on 2<sup>nd<\/sup>-5<sup>th<\/sup> grade modified Amplify units and on K-1 POP Science lessons. These <strong>HANDS-ON workshops<\/strong> combine interactive instruction and time to collaborate with grade-level peers. You will practice and walk away with specific lessons for your classroom. Even if you\u2019ve done these workshops before, we encourage you to participate again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sessions run from 3-6 pm and will take place at the Bend Science Station on the OSU-C campus. You will be <strong>compensated by the district at the curriculum rate<\/strong> for your time. This includes directions on how to sign into Clever and important notes about what devices can access Lexia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To access Clever:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>visit <a href=\"https:\/\/clever.com\/in\/bls\">https:\/\/clever.com\/in\/bls<\/a>&nbsp; from any internet browser.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>select &#8220;Log in with Active Directory&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>username &#8211; student&#8217;s first and last name, no spaces. example: joejohnson<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>password &#8211; the special 6-digit code that&#8217;s used for all sorts of logins for students in Bend-La Pine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From Clever, students can access Lexia Core5, DreamBox, Newsela, and more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Important notes about accessing Lexia from home:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If families are using a mobile device (tablet\/iPad) they will need to install the free Lexia Core5 app in order for Lexia to work, even when they access Lexia from inside Clever<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lexia Core5 will not work on a small device like a smartphone, iPhone, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If students are using a computer or laptop, they won&#8217;t need to install a Lexia app. They can log into Clever, and then select the Lexia Core5 icon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Families can request that their school iPad be sent home during break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you want your students to access our vast digital library over the break? Student and staff Sora accounts are accessible on school and personal devices using the Sora app and by logging in with a standard Bend-La Pine Schools username (firstlast) and password (6-digits).
