Here are some <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/instructionaltechnology\/2020\/01\/30\/black-history-month\/\" target=\"_blank\"> resources<\/a> from the Instructional Technology Department you may wish to use with your students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/gary.defrang\/files\/2020\/02\/IMG_2933.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1553\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/gary.defrang\/files\/2020\/02\/IMG_2933.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/gary.defrang\/files\/2020\/02\/IMG_2933-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption>Symphony Star, Jeff Briggs answering questions from 5th graders<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we discussed at the Staff Meeting on Tuesday, <strong>#110 <\/strong>is the code for schoolwide announcements via the intercom from any phone in our school.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is a copy of <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/open?id=1YbAEp4JTp81smvRfc7eyGoDLJ2LlubqU\">Bend-La Pine Schools&#8217; Strategic Investment Plan.<\/a>  This outlines the plans to invest approximately <strong>$18 million<\/strong> in additional funding from the state of Oregon. As we shared on Tuesday, we will be messaging information again to families via the <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/open?id=1LIQgCdlQJuHa-RaSrjGr09xLuqcpnGtx\">newsletter next week.<\/a>  Still not sure how to launch or discuss the project with your students?  After the Staff Meeting, someone shared with me how they discussed the project with their students:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;<em>After the assembly I talked with my class about the Sparrow Project,  what community service is, and shared the <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/open?id=1P_zsrhp0FHJW491_qrnz81yYYY2zBw0m\">examples of community service<\/a> with them.  We  did a bit of brainstorming too of some service ideas that were not on the list.  I then modeled to them how to fill out the voucher and asked who was interested in participating and handed out vouchers (I asked Amber for some extras because I was a couple short).
