{"id":474,"date":"2019-02-08T17:14:21","date_gmt":"2019-02-08T17:14:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/gary.defrang\/?p=474"},"modified":"2019-02-08T17:14:21","modified_gmt":"2019-02-08T17:14:21","slug":"february-8th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/gary.defrang\/2019\/02\/08\/february-8th\/","title":{"rendered":"February 8th"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On March 12th at 5:30 in the gym, Lava Ridge families are invited to learn how to help their children find a <strong>healthy balance when it comes to screen time.<\/strong>  Dr. Rebecca Hicks, a parent of a Bend-La Pine student and pediatrician at Mosaic Medical, will be discussing the science behind and current research on the effects of screen time on brain development. She will present recommendations to help keep children healthy and safe from issues that can arise from excessive screen time.
