{"id":4988,"date":"2024-05-10T17:29:54","date_gmt":"2024-05-10T17:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/gary.defrang\/?p=4988"},"modified":"2024-05-10T17:29:54","modified_gmt":"2024-05-10T17:29:54","slug":"may-10-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/gary.defrang\/2024\/05\/10\/may-10-2\/","title":{"rendered":"May 10"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Happenings Next Week at Lava Ridge:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Monday: ICCL Meeting @ 2:30 in the Media Center<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tuesday:&nbsp; Staff Meeting @ 2:30 in the Media Center<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wednesday:&nbsp; Character Trait Awards @ Lunches; EA Meeting @ 12:10; SIW-Teacher Prep<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thursday:\u00a0 State Advisory Council Visit @ 12:00;  Lion Dash @ 1:25; K MTSS, 1<sup>st<\/sup> -5<sup>th<\/sup> PLC Meetings (content focus Wayfinder\/RGR)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The<strong> State Advisory Council for Special Education<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/ode\/students-and-family\/specialeducation\/pages\/sacse.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(SACSE)<\/a> will be visiting Lava Ridge and other Central Oregon schools on on May 16<sup>th<\/sup>.  They are planning to be on site for about 30 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some details for the <strong>Lion Dash:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students will be receiving a Lion Dash t-shirt from the PTO that can be worn on the day of the event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students will want to bring a full water bottle to the event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We will begin calling classes at 1:00 to the Lion Dash;&nbsp; 5<sup>th<\/sup> grade first, followed by 4<sup>th<\/sup>, 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, \u2026Kindergarten will be called around 1:15.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the conclusion of the Lion Dash, students will return to class, have a snack and pack up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Families that attend and wish to take their child home afterwards, can meet their child at the Main Entrance after the bell rings at 2:15.  Thank you for your help and communication with this. Madeline will be the full-time counselor at Juniper Elementary next year. We are so happy for you, Madeline! As you read several weeks ago, we will continue to have a .5 FTE counselor next year and have learned that <strong>Sally Brown<\/strong>, will be joining our staff in this role. Sally is currently a part-time counselor at Juniper and Silver Rail.
