{"id":5687,"date":"2025-04-25T20:18:17","date_gmt":"2025-04-25T20:18:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/gary.defrang\/?p=5687"},"modified":"2025-04-25T20:18:17","modified_gmt":"2025-04-25T20:18:17","slug":"april-25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/gary.defrang\/2025\/04\/25\/april-25\/","title":{"rendered":"April 25"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Happenings Next Week at Lava Ridge: &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tuesday:&nbsp; Lockdown Drill AM; Social Team Meeting @ 2:30 in the Media Center<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wednesday: \u00a0Spring\/5th Personality Pictures;  SIW-Educator Network Day II:\u00a0 Amplify Desmos Math @ 1:45 in the Media Center<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thursday: 2<sup>nd<\/sup> grade MTSS in C5, K, 1, 3-5<sup>th<\/sup> PLC Meetings @ 2:30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tuesday-Friday will be announcing a round of <strong>Safety Trait Awards<\/strong> during the announcements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This week, <strong>Commute Options<\/strong> will be here teaching 4th and 5th graders <strong>bike safety<\/strong> and kindergarten and 2nd grade classes <strong>pedestrian safety<\/strong>. This is the first of three weeks they will be on campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the event your grade level team has a change in schedule with <strong>Walk to Skill<\/strong> (field trips, etc.) please let Kina and I know in advance. This helps in locating students during this time and so schedules can be adjusted for those that support\/lead groups. Thank you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your <strong>Lion Dash feedback<\/strong> is appreciated! If you have any feedback that you would like shared with PTO and haven&#8217;t emailed or talked with me or responded to Allison&#8217;s email, please do so by Monday. I will accumulate this information and share it with PTO at our monthly meeting.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is the <strong>Standard Response Protocol (SRP)<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1KtdbJARqKyU9QlEfIljthlFeXR4f91cg27hNnuP5cA8\/edit#slide=id.p\">lockdown lesson<\/a> to review with students in preparation for the drill on Tuesday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Way to go Mrs. Schendel<\/strong>!  Rachel was selected to receive a grant from the University of Oregon that will cover the cost of the coursework and practicum for an <strong>ESOL Endorsement.<\/strong>  She begins courses this summer with a practicum spring of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Thank you for your efforts this year teaching Foundational Skills! <\/strong> This is really shaping the future for our students!
