We need only provide the four (not four + conference\/report card prep). As elementary schools we provide our teachers with these four SIW days.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Wednesday the week before fall conferences<\/li>\n<li>The Wednesday before the semester grading day<\/li>\n<li>The Wednesday the week before spring conferences<\/li>\n<li>The last SIW of the year (this is the second to last Wednesday of the year as the last Wednesday is a 3:30 dismissal).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Call me if you need further clarification.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Kindergarten Assessment Info-<\/strong><\/span> Here is some interesting information gathered from the state kindergarten assessment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2017-18 preliminary kindergarten assessment results show correlation with 3<sup>rd<\/sup> grade skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>(Salem, Ore)<\/em> \u2013 The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and the Early Learning Division (ELD) today jointly released results from the 2017-18 kindergarten assessment. This year, for the first time, there is a cohort of students who have taken both the kindergarten assessment and the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> grade assessment \u2013 providing more information for the state and local communities to use to target resources for young children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough we only have one year of comparison data, there is a clear correlation between kindergarten assessment and third-grade assessment results. This confirms what we have always known: if we can support children to be ready for success when they enter kindergarten, they are more likely to be on track in 3<sup>rd<\/sup> grade,\u201d said Miriam Calderon, Oregon\u2019s early learning system director.<\/p>\n<p>Kindergarten assessment results, including district-specific data, are available here:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/ode\/educator-resources\/assessment\/Pages\/Kindergarten-Assessment.aspx\">http:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/ode\/educator-resources\/assessment\/Pages\/Kindergarten-Assessment.aspx<\/a>.The initial analysis on the correlation between the kindergarten and third-grade assessments is available under \u201c2017-18 Interpretive Guidance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Behavior Update- <\/strong><\/span> Thank you to all of the principals and VP&#8217;s who were able to attend our behavior meeting last Friday. I shared a summary with cabinet on Monday. Sean and I have met since to iron out a few more details. I need to meet with principals and\/or VP&#8217;s one more time in order for us to make some decisions about $. I&#8217;d like to meet Wednesday at 4:00 at Silver Rail. Please do your best to be there.
