Enrollment\/Staffing-<\/strong><\/span> I’ll start with the topic that is at the forefront of everyone’s mind- enrollment and staffing. As of this morning, elementary schools were 165 under enrollment projections. We need to get much closer to projections before I can release one, let alone two of the FTE that we had in spring. Please be sure to enter new students asap and do whatever you can to get students who are registered online into the system. I know we have a few hot spots out there that we are trying to address. I am watching closely, but don’t hesitate to give me a call if you have a question. Thank you to everyone for your patience as we work through this. I appreciate your understanding and I know how difficult it is for you and your staffs to be in limbo.<\/p>\n

Thanks-<\/strong><\/span> Great to see so many of you taking advantage of all the great training opportunities in our district. Kudos to Skip and his TLC team and Sean and his team for two fantastic events this past week. We would be hard pressed to find a better line up of speakers and PD anywhere in the state. Thank you for setting an example for learning and thanks to those responsible for planning and implementing.<\/p>\n

New School ICCL’s <\/strong><\/span>From Kevin: We will be hiring three curriculum leaders to assist in the planning and preparation for the new elementary school.\u00a0These teachers will receive\u00a0an ICCL stipend for the 2018-2019 school year and then teach\u00a0at the new elementary school beginning in 2019-2020. We have completed an internal posting that closes on September 21 and we will be conducting interviews soon after that date.\u00a0If you have any questions, please contact Kevin. Please email the note\u00a0below\u00a0to your certified staff and help get the word out about these positions.<\/p>\n

Intervention Training- <\/strong><\/span>We are fortunate to once again have a variety of intervention trainings that we are able to offer to our intervention staff. These offerings will take place September 11-14. TLC has worked hard to plan around recesses\/ lunches, etc., but as you know, they may or may not be able to accommodate. Please send this link to your staff so that they know what is being offered and they can sign up (PD place is still unavailable, so we are using this).<\/p>\n
