The data reflects very well on the work you are doing and is quite favorable for us. Thank you for your leadership as SBAC is one piece of important information that demonstrates student learning in BLP.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Principal SLGG&#8217;s-<\/strong><\/span> You may use the same forms that we sent to teachers to write your slggs. Nothing has changed since last year. I will be sending out a November\/December visit calendar soon and I will go over slggs with you at that meeting.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Safe Touch\/Erin&#8217;s Law-<\/strong><\/span> Please be sure to document on <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1tg-oNnB2wzb-zVH3AjQrBOOPyS3tbV0y\/view?usp=sharing\">this form<\/a> that you have completed the Safe Touch curriculum. Please submit to Jody when complete. Thank you.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Discipline-<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Several discipline documents were shared at our leadership meeting on Monday or during new leadership training. Included were a <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1W9r0PsePdhks9t8qIx0MmMmcR6wfIgYB\/view?usp=sharing\">discipline matrix<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1bPOIHpG_EALhISgS61vWLVR_YY_CKrU9\/view?usp=sharing\">sped discipline flowchart<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1MLw8RUf_l8YoawBCiNey9nVw3bwYd8SA\/view?usp=sharing\">sped discipline procedures<\/a>. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss any of these.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>New School Naming-<\/strong> <\/span>Community members and interested individuals are invited to suggest potential names for Bend-La Pine Schools\u2019 newest school \u2013 a 600-seat elementary school slated to open in the fall of 2019 in north central Bend. To suggest a name, interested individuals can fill out an online survey<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/BLSnaming\">available here<\/a>. The survey will remain open through Oct. 21.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Conferences-<\/strong><\/span> Schools once again have a choice on\u00a0 conference scheduling. Nothing has changed. You may conference from 8 am to 8 pm Thursday and have Friday off or you may conference from noon to 8 pm on Thursday and 8 am to noon on Friday. Wednesday 8 am to 4 pm is teacher prep and 4 pm to 8 pm is conference time. <strong>Please set aside your SIW time on October 18 for conference prep.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I will have the names\/ times of interpreters to you hopefully no later than Monday.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Outdoor School Supervision-<\/strong><\/span>I am linking the <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/0By9sJRluBirgbmtIUkh3MFR4MVk\/view?usp=sharing\">contract<\/a> we have with Tamarack. Please see pages two and three for guidelines around cabin supervision. Call if you have questions.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>ID Badges-<\/strong><\/span> Please make sure your <strong>staff are wearing the district-issued ID badge<\/strong> (and not ID created from a different source). Please contact HR if you or someone on staff needs a new ID badge.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Start Time-<\/span><\/strong> Please share<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1bhND23H3XQhSLnTJ-DIbBQoe4_asiSiH\/view?usp=sharing\"> start time information<\/a> with your staff if you haven&#8217;t already. Thank you.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Oregon College Saving Plan-<\/strong><\/span> The Oregon College Savings Plan launched the elementary school <em>Be College Ready<\/em> program for the 2018-2019 school year August 13<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 The program is open to <strong>all<\/strong> public elementary schools, private elementary schools and homeschooled children of elementary school age across Oregon.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>Be College Ready<\/em> is uniquely designed to be easy for elementary schools to incorporate. Here is how the program works:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participating schools will receive free homework folders, pencils and bookmarks for every student.<\/li>\n<li>100 families (20 per each of the five congressional school districts) will be eligible to win $100 Oregon College Savings Plan account.<\/li>\n<li>Schools will simply be asked to distribute information and provide opportunities for parents\/families to learn more about the how the Oregon College Savings Plan can help a make post-secondary education more affordable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Schools\/school districts can visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.becollegeready.net\/\">www.becollegeready.net<\/a> to order free supplies for their elementary school students. Elementary school supplies can be ordered directly by the elementary school and then distributed to students. It is totally up to you on how you would like to place orders for your elementary school aged students.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions or concerns regarding <em>Be College Ready <\/em>and\/or would be interested in having staff come to your community to inform the public about <em>Be College Ready <\/em>and\/or other programs please contact the Oregon Savings Network Outreach Director John Valley at <a href=\"mailto:john.valley@ost.state.or.us\">john.valley@ost.state.or.us<\/a>\u00a0 or call him at 503-432-1618. <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1wFHwV5HkqB7GsCfiOSsZ-MY6mr6UHjDc\/view?usp=sharing\">Flyer<\/a>.
