School Report<\/strong> Cards-<\/strong><\/span> School report cards need to be shared with families by January 15. Web link, school newsletter, hard copies are all acceptable means of sharing.<\/p>\n

Kindergarten-<\/strong><\/span> I have a couple of questions regarding kindergarten registration. Please send me your answers by the Friday before Thanksgiving break.<\/p>\n

  1. Do you begin registering students before our annual April Round Up?\n
      \n
    1. If yes, what is your process? Community fair, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    2. Please share with me your thoughts on an earlier Round Up. Would you like to see it earlier? If so, when? What are some potential advantages or disadvantages?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Kinder Camp-\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> Please let me know if you did some kind of kinder camp where you waited to assign kindergarten classes until after having them in the schools for a few years. If so, please give me a one paragraph or less description of the process you used. Thank you.<\/p>\n

      Departmentalized Instruction-<\/strong><\/span>Please let me know if you are doing any kind of departmentalized instruction. If so, how many grades, teachers, etc. are involved?<\/b><\/p>\n

      BrightBytes Survey-<\/span>\u00a0 <\/strong>The BrightBytes survey window will open November 12th<\/sup> and close November 30th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Skip will be sending out directions for students and teachers in two separate emails next week.\u00a0 If you have any questions about how to administer this survey please let him know.\u00a0 Remember, this survey is used by Shay in his report to the board regarding our Future Ready board ends.\u00a0 Please ensure that students and teachers fully participate in this survey.<\/p>\n

      District<\/strong> Agreements- <\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Our BLP District Agreements\/ standards of practice in math<\/a>, reading<\/a> and writing<\/a> that were shared in this blog on August 17 still apply. If you are having trouble meeting the agreed upon time expectations in math, reading and\/or writing, please let me know and we can dive into your master schedule together to be sure we are meeting those.<\/p>\n

      DHS Forms-<\/strong><\/span>Apparently, DHS will no longer be accepting faxed copies of report forms. I don’t know the reasoning for this decision. Please share this with staff and please continue to send a copy to the Ed. Center and keep one for your records. For now, no copies to DHS until we learn more.<\/p>\n

      Title I-<\/strong><\/span> Our 2018-2019 Title I budget has been approved by ODE. Thank you for getting those complete and thanks to JoAnne for the amazing job she does of organizing all of your input and submitting it.<\/p>\n

      Education Foundation Grants-<\/b><\/span> <\/strong>Please be sure to share this information about Ed foundation Teacher Grants with your teachers. SAVE<\/strong> THE DATE!\u00a0 <\/b>The Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools announces the Classroom Grants timeline for K-12 educators for the 2019-2020 academic year.\u00a0 The grant process will open Monday, February 18, 2019<\/u> with a link to the online application form.\u00a0 Grant applications must\u00a0be submitted\u00a0no later than Friday, March 22, 2019.<\/u>\u00a0 The grant application process is open to all educators in Bend, La Pine and Sunriver.\u00a0 Once determinations are made, funded grants will be awarded in May 2019.\u00a0 All educators will be sent additional communication with in December and January and the online link in February.\u00a0 Questions can be directed to Angie Cole<\/b>, Allocations Committee Chair at:\u00a0 acole@cocc.edu<\/a> or (541) 318-3794\u00a0 OR Michelle Johnson,<\/b> Executive Director, Education Foundation at: classroomgrantapplications@gmail.com<\/a> or (541) 355-5660.\u00a0 Requests for STEM, art, music & wellness projects will be accepted during the dates indicated and must\u00a0complete all necessary forms for consideration.\u00a0 In the 2018-2019 academic year, the Education Foundation funded over $89,000 in classroom grants — it’s highest award in 30 years of service to the K-12 educational community.\u00a0 To learn more, visit www.engagedminds.org<\/a><\/p>\n
