Google Drive and Backup & Sync

Many of you have downloaded the Google Drive app to your laptop and have seen the icon at the top of your screen:

It comes in handy for a couple of reasons.

    1. Not only is it backing up what you put into Google Drive, but it also lives on your computer if you so choose.
    2. It’s a quick shortcut to get to Google Drive on the Web.

Well, now it’s gotten even better in my opinion. Instead of downloading Google Drive to your computer, you can now download Backup & Sync. If you already have Google Drive downloaded, you can still download Backup & Sync and it will replace the old icon and give you a couple of extra features. The old Google Drive app is officially being replaced with Backup & Sync on December 11th. Notice I said the old Google Drive App.¬†Google Drive on the web is staying the same.
