{"id":3354,"date":"2016-12-07T12:20:56","date_gmt":"2016-12-07T19:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/instructionaltechnology\/?p=3354"},"modified":"2016-12-07T12:20:56","modified_gmt":"2016-12-07T19:20:56","slug":"apple-classroom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/instructionaltechnology\/2016\/12\/07\/apple-classroom\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Classroom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple Classroom is now available for all Bend-La Pine teaching staff. \u00a0All you need to do is download the Apple Classroom App from the App store. \u00a0 Immediately upon opening the app, you will see your class preps and ALL current students enrolled in your class. \u00a0Amazing!<\/p>\n<p>To make the most of Apple Classroom, students will need to have their bluetooth\u00a0settings enabled. \u00a0 They can quickly and easily do this from the control panel on their student iPad. \u00a0They do NOT need to load \u00a0Apple Classroom or an additional app.<\/p>\n<p>Apple Classroom has nothing to do with workflow. \u00a0Instead, it is more of<strong> a digital educational assistant<\/strong>. \u00a0Apple classroom can:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 put students into specific apps remotely. \u00a0(including locking students into an app)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 live stream all student iPad screens to their teacher iPad to monitor student progress<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 show a student device to their iPad screen \u00a0(think alternative to students joining airserver)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 lock all iPads so that the teacher can redirect the focus of the lesson<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 make groups of students to be in different apps and have different roles in the classroom activity<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 navigate students to a particular website or iBook resource.<\/p>\n<p>It won&#8217;t take long to figure out the simple interface of Apple Classroom. \u00a0If you have any questions or issues, please reach out to your instructional technology TOSA.<\/p>\n<p>***special note- \u00a0Not all student photos are available for Apple classroom at the present time. \u00a0The student headshot has NOTHING to do with the functionality of the app.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to choose the &#8220;lock app after loading&#8221;
