You might be wondering “What in the world is she talking about?” Well, hot corners on a Mac basically are mouse shortcuts to make your workflow easier.

I use one to put my laptop asleep when I have to walk away from it. This way you don’t have to worry about your students getting a look at Synergy on your laptop while you’re away or having a sneaky co-worker mess with your desktop.

The other hot corner I use is my desktop which enables me to locate items quickly on my desktop and drag and drop them into emails, Google Drive, or a working document such as Pages or Keynote. I often see people with multiple windows open on their computer. When they need to find something on their desktop, they either have to minimize their windows or are moving them to the side so they can get to their desktop. If you use this desktop hot corner, you don’t have to move or minimize anything.

Trust me these are so worth setting up and it only takes a minute.

Here’s how you can set them up:

Let us know if you have any questions.

Today I want to share 2 hot corners that I use on my laptop that I would be extremely annoyed if I didn’t have them.
