A favorite part of my job is getting to hear about great lessons that teachers are teaching. This morning I had the privilege of hearing a smattering of ideas and wanted to share one of them with you today. Jeff Baisch, a Business and Avid instructor at La Pine High School, recently used an Escape Room<\/a> with his students in his Intro to Business Class where they use the design thinking model that is taught by the Stanford d.school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea was to teach teams how to work together by understanding how teams see, make, tell, and think.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In 2016-2017 the teaching Fellows, Stephanie Szab\u00f3, Holly May Mahoney, and Kareem Collie shared a new experimental tool \u2013 The Team Cohesion Kit \u2013 to promote creative collaboration. The idea was to teach teams how to work together by understanding how teams see, make, tell, and think. Baisch applied the seeing and telling skills\/reflection to his escape room lesson: Using WebEx, two students were partnered together. Both had different screens where they solved puzzles and gained information that their partner needed in order to complete their task. This was a fun activity for the students and really engaged them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
