When you Google Black History Month, you\u2019ll most likely see the name, Carter G. Woodson, known as the \u201cFather of Black History\u201d. In 1915, he created the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. Then in 1926, he started the first \u201cNegro History Week\u201d on February 7th. It wasn\u2019t until 1976 when Black History Month was officially recognized. It was then that President Gerald Ford urged Americans to \u201chonor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
