To help encourage best practices around technology use, let\u2019s reflect on how iPads can best be used during the school day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Below are ideas to help prevent passive iPad time in classrooms.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your classroom utilizes routines such as \u201cMust-Do\/May-Do lists\u201d or&nbsp; \u201cOptions\/Tasks for Early-Finishers,\u201d please consider these ideas: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Display\/Post\/Project purposeful lists of options in place of things like \u201cchoice time\u201d or \u201cfree time\u201d on iPads.\u00a0<\/li><li>Clear learning goals\/outcomes should be evident whenever students are using school iPads.<\/li><li>Add your own creative options that don\u2019t involve iPads such as reading, writing, journaling, artistic projects, etc.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/instructionaltechnology\/files\/2022\/03\/iPad-Choice-Time-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6492\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/instructionaltechnology\/files\/2022\/03\/iPad-Choice-Time-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/instructionaltechnology\/files\/2022\/03\/iPad-Choice-Time-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/instructionaltechnology\/files\/2022\/03\/iPad-Choice-Time-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/instructionaltechnology\/files\/2022\/03\/iPad-Choice-Time-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/instructionaltechnology\/files\/2022\/03\/iPad-Choice-Time.png 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s always a good time to discuss iPad expectations with students. Is it time to revisit some of these ideas?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u201cSchool iPad\u201d or \u201cLearning Tool\u201d &#8211; What do those terms mean?<\/li><li>What does it look like to treat an iPad responsibly?&nbsp;<\/li><li>How is an iPad like a school library book?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s exciting to see the many ways iPads are being used in our classrooms.
