It includes expanded capabilities, higher usage limits, and protections for professional use in education, going beyond what is available in a standard free ChatGPT account. If staff choose to use ChatGPT for professional work, ChatGPT for Teachers is the appropriate workspace for that use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Who can use ChatGPT for Teachers?<\/strong><br>All Bend-La Pine Schools staff are eligible to request access, including teachers, support staff, and administrators. OpenAI is providing access at no cost through June 2027. Continued access beyond that date is not guaranteed and may be modified or discontinued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>Important: Will my chat history carry over? <\/strong><br><\/strong>If you previously used ChatGPT with your BLS credentials, it may take up to 24 hours for your chat history to appear in your new ChatGPT for Teachers account. In some cases, not all previous chats may carry over. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What are my responsibilities when using AI?<\/strong><br>Use AI as a thinking partner, not a final answer. It is intended to save time and spark ideas, not replace professional expertise. Ensure content is accurate and appropriate, cross-check information, be mindful of bias in outputs, and avoid entering student names, personal information, or sensitive internal documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How do I get access?<\/strong><br>Access is by invitation only. Please complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/bls.fyi\/chatgptrequest\">ChatGPT Request Form<\/a> to receive an invitation, which may take up to a week to arrive in your email inbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How is this different from MagicSchool?<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/bend.k12.or.us\/ai-in-bls\/magicschool\">MagicSchool<\/a> remains our district-approved AI platform for classroom use, with built-in safeguards, educator tools, and student-facing features aligned with district priorities.
