As part of our ongoing work to support thoughtful, effective, and responsible technology use across Bend-La Pine Schools, the Educational Technology team recently completed a review of the apps available in Self Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This work was completed in response to Board Resolution 2013<\/a>, which directs the district to review educational technology tools and ensure that digital resources are aligned with student learning, instructional practices, privacy expectations, and appropriate technology use. Apps were removed from Self Service if they met one or more of the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Several departments were included in this work, including curriculum directors and instructional coaches, who weighed in on instructional apps to help ensure decisions were grounded in classroom practice, curricular alignment, and student learning needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you cannot find an app or digital tool that you need, please submit a Help Desk ticket<\/a> requesting an iPad app. That request will begin a fresh evaluation process. Depending on the tool, the review may involve multiple departments and will include looking at things such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Some requests are simple. Others are more complex and may take additional time to review. We appreciate your patience as we make sure tools are evaluated carefully and responsibly.
