iPads have exploded throughout schools and classrooms. Their flexibility, versatility, and mobility make them a phenomenal learning tool. As teachers and students seek ways to integrate these devices, the Bend-La Pine Schools are focused on specific learning goals that promote critical-thinking, creativity, collaboration, and the creation of student-centric learning environments.
The following list of apps is organized by function. In other words, focused on what we want students to do. The school will provide all apps and digital content, you DO NOT need to purchase these. To view the comprehensive listing of all approved apps, see the grade level lists linked below. Please know that in addition to these apps many of your students textbooks will also transition into dynamic digital versions.
It is also worth noting that students in grades 3-8 do not manage their own content. Apps are installed on iPads; installation is then restricted.
Students in grades 9-12 are able to install apps of their choice (so long as they are rated appropriate for the 13-17 yr. old age group). However, school and curricular content takes priority and should their content interfere with those intended uses school staff will work with them to remove unnecessary content and create free space.
