class=\"has-background wp-block-heading\" style=\"background-color:#58b9df\">Midterm Progress Reports<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A week ago we sent out midterm progress reports for each of our classes. Please remember the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>This information is ALWAYS available in ParentVue <\/strong>&#8211; <span style=\"color:#a30003\" class=\"has-inline-color\">you need not wait to stay caught up with your student&#8217;s progress.<\/span> Check ParentVue ANYTIME &#8211; the midterm progress report information is straight out of ParentVue!<\/li><li><strong>The letter grades are important, but in ParentVue YOU CAN GO DEEPER<\/strong> and look into both the &#8220;Standards View&#8221; and the &#8220;Assignment View&#8221; to get a sense of how your student is progressing against each of the key standards in the class.<\/li><li><strong>There is STILL time to improve grades. <\/strong>Teachers usually allow students to submit late work and\/or to re-take or re-do assessments\/assignments to demonstrate increased levels of proficiency. Students are encouraged to talk (or email) their teachers!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-background wp-block-heading\" style=\"background-color:#58b9df\">Student Led Conferences &#8211; ALL Students: Dec 1st &#8211; 3rd<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Student Led Conferences at REALMS are a critical component &#8220;student engaged assessment&#8221; at REALMS. We believe the most important assessment that happens in our classrooms is the assessment that each student engages in when she judges her writing, her speaking, her art or any other of her accomplishments against rigorous standards of quality. Then, it is our job as educators to help each student develop his\/her ability to thoughtfully assess their learning and develop the motivation to constantly improve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During SLC&#8217;s, it is&nbsp;<em>students<\/em>&nbsp;who do most of the talking. In the two weeks prior to the conferences students go through a process of selecting pieces of work (evidence) that demonstrate their learning and growth on core learning targets (standards) in each class. They reflect on their learning in each class and on their next steps, and prepare to share all this with you in a structured 30 minute academic conversation.&nbsp;<strong>Our goal and expectation is 100% participation!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"color:#a50003\" class=\"has-inline-color\">STUDENT LED CONFERENCES ARE FACILITATED BY THE STUDENT&#8217;S CREW TEACHER! <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PARENT&#8217;S:<\/strong> <strong>FIND YOUR STUDENT&#8217;S CREW TEACHER ON <a href=\"https:\/\/signup.com\/Group\/127017635465590047\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">THIS SIGN UP TOOL<\/a> AND GET YOUR SLOT ASAP!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons alignfull is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/signup.com\/Group\/127017635465590047\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SLC Sign Up Tool<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Some Logistics To Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Sign up early to get your choice!<\/li><li>Slots are 45 minutes long and because the schedule is tight, we must stay true to time limits, so arrive early!<\/li><li><em><strong>For blended families<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;&#8211; if possible we request (on behalf of the students) that parents from different households attempt to conference together (OR, choose 1 parent to be at the conference) in one slot so that your student leads one conference for all interested parents instead of a separate conference for each parent. If that is not feasible, and it is preferable for the student to lead two conferences, then please sign up for two&#8230; we get it. It is also absolutely OK if a grandparent or other caregiver or trusted adult attends if a parent is not available!<\/li><li>If you ABSOLUTELY can&#8217;t make any of the available times, uh oh.
