Day!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-background wp-block-heading\" id=\"upcoming-dates\" style=\"background-color:#8dc6f1\">NEW After-School Programs!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Like a crocus in the spring time, we are continuing to emerge from COVID-induced<br>restrictions\u2026 This time in the form of After School Programs! We currently have<br>TWO after school options for students, and we have been advertising it to them in<br>our daily announcements, so there are already some students attending, but<br>there is room for more.<br><strong>On Monday\u2019s, from 4:00-5:00<\/strong>, Dante is offering students opportunities to learn<br>and play <strong>CHESS<\/strong>, a game thousands of years old and that continues to excite and<br>evolve. There are already students attending with a range of skills and experience,<br>and all levels are welcome! Come learn and play in the black and white jungle of<br>Room 1.<br><strong>On Thursdays from 4:00-5:00,<\/strong> our nerd-in-residence Jake is teaching students to<br>cast spells, summon creatures, and enchant objects at <strong>MAGIC CLUB<\/strong>. If you don\u2019t<br>know, Magic is a super-engaging card game (no real magic involved unless you<br>count life-long friendships forming) that uses strategy and planning. Like the chess<br>club, ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE are welcome, and there are<br>already students of all levels attending. We will be tackling these assessment in May. These assessments are, in many ways, more important than ever. We know that the pandemic has impacted student learning, and these assessments proved us with useful data about achievement in key math and literacy skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We strongly encourage all students to participate in these assessments.
