Working to understand and address climate change!<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

10th Grade students dig into snowpack analysis, albedo effect experiments and writing connected to their trimester-long climate change expedition called “Frog In The Pot”! Over the course of 2 days, all 48 of our sophomores ventured out to Dutchman Flat at the base of Mount Bachelor to understand how one our planet’s most pressing problems can be seen right here in our own community. Making action sports safer<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Juniors in Aaron Seelig’s physics class recently culminated a forces\/impacts unit with a “Helmet Design” project. They took their designs to the field to do some real time product testing using Vernier impact sensors. This image overlays the impact data from the probe built into Cooper’s prototype. And don’t worry… it was not all work and no play… students also had the opportunity to try out snow biking on with the help of guides from Cog Wild!<\/strong> More photos here.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n

From Garden to Kitchen!<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

9th grader James Humphreys is dedicated to the RHS Garden Club. Here he is preparing soil amendments for our raised beds. Lucky for us, because our new “Pop Up Teaching Kitchen”<\/strong> is a popular place to whip up healthy and delicious meals during Spanish with Yen Ling Wang and during our Culinary Club meetings with Kem Templin! Already, herbs and greens from our garden club are finding their way into our students’ culinary creations!<\/p>\n\n\n
