And I want to start by sharing some words of appreciation and encouragement:

To our students: We are proud of you! We miss you! Keep at it!

We know that distance learning is, for most of you, NOT your preferred method of learning by any means. You have shown persistence and patience with Canvas and you have shown compassion and kindness with your classmates and teachers. This can and will get easier… KEEP COMING TO CLASS, EVERY DAY! Turn your camera on and CONNECT with your classmates. Ask questions. Participate. We know… this is hard.

Many of you are juggling your own work and career stresses while trying to support multiple kids in the house. It can be especially hard if your student is struggling and you don’t know how to help. The feeling of helplessness is real. Please keep communicating with us… either myself, our office team, and/or your kiddo’s teachers. We will respond and do OUR best to support.

To our teachers/staff: Adapting and improvising is our new normal.

Thank you to the whole team at school who is working EVERY DAY to try and make “school in a pandemic” the best it can be for ALL of our students… those who are thriving AND those who are struggling. I appreciate how EVERY DAY you are re-learning, re-inventing, and looking for new and creative ways to make learning from home better for our students. All the while you are juggling the challenges of your own kids and families.
