Hello, Realms Middle and High School Families!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Summer is still in full swing, but it is with great enthusiasm that we are now beginning to turn our attention to the 2023-24 school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This Newsletter #1 includes important logistics, so please do take some time to chew through the whole thing. At the bottom of this page is a list of what to expect in our next edition (“Newsletter #2”), which will come out in about 2 weeks.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n At Realms, we believe that the role of a school is to help develop students’ Character while also<\/em> teaching new knowledge and skills. Summer Break is an opportunity to develop one’s Character, be it through travel, hobbies, socializing, and\/or work. In these ways, Summer Break can act as an important player in developing well-rounded young adults. We hope that each of our students have these positive experiences over summer, while also acknowledging the serious reality that not all students and families have the same opportunities outside of the school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n May the remaining weeks of summer be filled with joyful experiences that carry your family into the new school year! We are grateful to have you on our Crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Raise money for Realms clubs this August! Realms High School students, we are looking to recruit 30 or more students on Tuesday August 15th to help our District unbox, case up, and prepare 5000 new ipads for distribution!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our students have the opportunity to raise $2000 that YOU, OUR STUDENTS can spend on clubs this year as you see fit! <\/strong>With a big crew of us, the job won’t take long. We’ll put on some tunes, break out the snacks and knock out this job!<\/p>\n\n\n\n SIGN UP HERE…<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The major dates calendar for RMS and RHS is SLIGHTLY different than our neighborhood schools due to our professional development work with EL Education and to our unique trimester and conferences schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can see the Realms Major Dates calendar<\/a> <\/strong>here and compare it to the other schools calendars here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please know that this calendar spells out the start and end dates as well as conferences. However all of the week-to-week happenings will be posted in our monthly newsletters and our RMS and RHS website calendars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As many of you know, Realms MS\/HS as well as Bend Tech Academy have had a shorter school day (later start and earlier release) than the rest of our schools due to the challenges of bussing students from all different parts of Bend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thanks to the hard work of our Transportation Department, that problem has been solved! Starting this year, Realms MS\/HS as well as BTA and some of our other programs (TAG, Dual Immersion) will run on a separate bus route network allowing our students to have shorter and more direct bus routes and allowing our students to have the same length of school day as other students in our District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What You Need To Know:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nUPCOMING DATES!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
