{"id":24,"date":"2015-11-25T04:44:56","date_gmt":"2015-11-25T04:44:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/jim.boen\/?p=24"},"modified":"2015-11-25T04:45:01","modified_gmt":"2015-11-25T04:45:01","slug":"10-9-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/jim.boen\/2015\/11\/25\/10-9-15\/","title":{"rendered":"10-9-15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I am looking forward to visiting with many of you at your building next week. \u00a0You can look at the shared Google &#8220;MS Calendar\u201d for more details, but I will want to visit a few classrooms with you and talk a bit about your SDP. \u00a0Let me know if you have any questions about this. \u00a0Here are a few other things I want to highlight for you:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Reminders:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Gallup Student Poll is open until Oct. 30. \u00a0Please coordinate a time, if you haven\u2019t already, for having your students complete this short poll.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Bright Bytes survey is also currently open. \u00a0Thank you for having all of your students and staff take this survey (using different login codes that Skip sent you).<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">If you are needing an interpreter or translator please plan ahead (knowing there are exceptions at times) and request this service through JoAnne Kienzle in the TLC office. \u00a0It may seem easier to just grab a bilingual staff member to assist in these situations, but is better to use this request for service process for both tracking of need\/use, as well as not placing a burden on your building staff.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Ed Center exterior doors are now locked all of the time. \u00a0The only open door with access upstairs is the main entrance on the North side of the building.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">New information:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1HVBQzFi575NRUcbon_Qzn2l8tiCMsSHz_980EboDCdY\/edit\">Here<\/a>\u00a0is a document that outlines the monthly talking points for my site visits this year. \u00a0These points are taken directly off of the MS Calendar notes \u2013 I haven\u2019t changed them \u2013 but thought some of you might be interested in having all of these talking points on one document.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Here is a link I thought would be worth passing along to you (if you haven\u2019t already seen it). \u00a0It is a web site you could share with parents who would like additional information or resources to help support their child related to the SBAC. \u00a0It allows them to drill down on what the test is asking kids to know, as well as suggestions on what can be worked on if their child did not perform well in a particular area. \u00a0Here is the link:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatschools.org\/gk\/sbac-test-guide\/?state=oregon\">http:\/\/www.greatschools.org\/gk\/sbac-test-guide\/?state=oregon<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Thanks for coming to work and getting after it this past week!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Jim<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am looking forward to visiting with many of you at your building next week. \u00a0You can look at the shared Google &#8220;MS Calendar\u201d for more details, but I will want to visit a few classrooms with you and talk &hellip;
