{"id":358,"date":"2016-11-17T15:42:03","date_gmt":"2016-11-17T15:42:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/jim.boen\/?p=358"},"modified":"2016-11-17T15:42:03","modified_gmt":"2016-11-17T15:42:03","slug":"11-18-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/jim.boen\/2016\/11\/17\/11-18-16\/","title":{"rendered":"11.18.16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>To Do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have a wonderful Thanksgiving break! \u00a0If you are traveling, do so safely. \u00a0If you are hosting, do so graciously. \u00a0When you are eating, don&#8217;t overdue it! \u00a0Truly, I trust you will take advantage in the break in your crazy schedule and\u00a0take a breath to\u00a0enjoy those things most important to you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This and That:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I know I keep telling you that the videos I send to you are &#8220;worth watching&#8221;&#8230; but have no idea if you believe me anymore or not! \u00a0So, let me start by saying that\u00a0this video is definitely worth watching! \u00a0It is called <strong>The Adaptable Mind<\/strong> (letitripple.org). \u00a0In it the narrator provides their version of &#8220;the 4 C&#8217;s&#8221; &#8211; namely Curiosity, Creativity, Initiative, Multi-Disciplinary Thinking, and Empathy. \u00a0A quote from this video supports the &#8220;Student B&#8221; concept when it is said that\u00a0&#8220;human skills are just as important as knowledge.&#8221; One other quote taken from this clip that resonated with me is the assertion that we, as humans, need to &#8220;connect deeply, not just broadly.&#8221; The narrator goes on to claim that as a society we are not as good at connecting deeply with one another as we once were.
