{"id":1336,"date":"2020-02-29T00:14:15","date_gmt":"2020-02-29T00:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/katie.legace\/?p=1336"},"modified":"2020-02-29T00:14:15","modified_gmt":"2020-02-29T00:14:15","slug":"february-28-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bend.k12.or.us\/katie.legace\/2020\/02\/29\/february-28-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"February 28, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Informational:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/17WdFckXDK4VIZYWzHJvumK4HMy6Hv_fI\/view?usp=sharing\">UPDATE<\/a> on the <strong>superintendent search process.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>DHS \/ Law Enforcement Interview \u00a0Protocol Checklist<\/strong> form on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/portal.bend.k12.or.us\/staff-resources\/content\/investigation-child-abuse-dhs-law-enforcement-protocol-form\">portal<\/a>\u00a0and on our district website (it coincides with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bend.k12.or.us\/district\/organization\/policies-search\/2018\/04\/jfg-ar-student-searches-questioning\">JFG-AR: Student Searches &amp; Questioning<\/a>)  was missing an important step: providing notification to the person interviewing a child about the student\u2019s disabling condition (if any).  If you have copies already made, please either get rid of these or update them to add this missing step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m confident our schools are currently doing this, but our checklist form didn\u2019t include that important (and required by law!) part of the process. <em>Please share this with your front office staff as well! <\/em>   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Calendar:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember, we <strong>do <em>not<\/em> have a Leadership meetin<\/strong>g scheduled for March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next week is <strong>Classified Staff Appreciation Week<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>March 2 <\/strong>&#8211; ACR Submission Deadline<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>March 3<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>7:30 @ BSHS <\/strong>&#8211; BSHS, MVHS and SHS Principals <strong>process ACR&#8217;s for 20-21<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>March 6 &#8211; HS Administrators Meeting<\/strong> CANCELLED &#8211; MOVED TO MARCH 13<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>March 8 <\/strong>&#8211; Daylight Savings time begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>March 13 &#8211; HS Administrators Meeting<\/strong> &#8211; Be <strong>Ready to Share<\/strong> DRAFT of your Building MTSS plan.  Be sure to include the <strong>Academic, SEL and Behavior Tier I, II and III <\/strong>interventions.
