It will be important that you<strong> model <\/strong>that for our staff, students, and parents as we continue to plan and re-plan over the next several months!  Our mission and purpose will continue to focus on ensuring <strong>quality and caring learning environments <\/strong>for <strong>every student <\/strong>while giving each other <strong>grace and support!<\/strong>  We are in this <strong>together<\/strong> &#8211; so let&#8217;s continue to share and learn from one another &#8211; as well as <strong>celebrate our wins<\/strong> &#8211; however small!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">****************************************************************************************<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I explained at the HS Principal meeting this week, you may <strong>request to post positions you have in your 2.0 Staffing Plan starting next Monday, June 1<\/strong> \u2013 by <em>first emailing me what you anticipate posting<\/em>. I will then approve these and reply to you and HR with the green light for you to send in the position posting(s). Please put a <em>closing date of June 30<\/em> (knowing that this could be moved back to a later date, depending on what the Legislature decides to do in late June). If all goes well then you would be able to interview and hire beginning in July. This timeline and staffing plan could <strong>change<\/strong> based on Legislative action (or inaction) so keep that <strong>flexible and positive disposition<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">****************************************************************************************<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check out the Mascot for <em><strong>Caldera High School<\/strong><\/em> &#8211; the <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/15QQMGokp3OSnHKE-Uw5gMHFFEfCUZNDi\/view?usp=sharing\">Caldera Wolfpack<\/a>!  We will send out a press release after graduation week.  Great job Chris and team!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">****************************************************************************************<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our school buildings\/facilities will be open for summer programming starting June 15<\/strong>, as long as these groups\/organizations follow ODE guidance, including social distancing. Boys and Girls Club and Park and Rec., in addition to our own <strong>OSAA athletic programs<\/strong>, will be the likely users of our facilities during this time.   Next week, your Athletic Directors will be sharing out key information with your Head Coaches related to <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1WI1awJktwCnip4Sh1vyFwixAXbvzWlk1\/view?usp=sharing\">OSAA guidelines<\/a> for practices this summer.  We are also working on a district <strong>pre-screen monitor check sheet<\/strong> form that will be required to be completed for every athlete, every practice.  I appreciate <strong>your support of your Athletic Directors and coaches<\/strong> to <strong>ensure the guidelines are followed with fidelity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">****************************************************************************************<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ELL Dept is partnering with Migrant Education to provide <strong>summer school for emergent bilingual student<\/strong>s.\u00a0 We have additional (limited) space in the program for ELL students who do not otherwise qualify for migrant ed services.\u00a0 We are prioritizing students who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Are credit-deficient and at risk of not graduating by Aug (seniors)<\/li><li>Are earning \u201cincompletes\u201d this spring in math or language arts (9th-11th)<\/li><li>Have a history of significant learning struggles, or are in the process of team problem-solving<\/li><li>Are K-2 students (early learning)<\/li><li>Have not made progress on language proficiency assessments (long-term ELLs)<\/li><li>Have parents\/family who are unable to support academics at home<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ELL\/Language Specialists are working with buildings to identify and refer potential candidates.\u00a0 For more information or to include this referral process in your end-of-year MTSS\/RtI conversations, reach out to your specialist!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">****************************************************************************************<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Calendar:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No meeting<\/strong> next week with the <em>Cap and Gown Diploma Walk<\/em>s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HS Principal WebEx<\/strong> &#8211; June 10 @ 1:00<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To Do: I continue to be grateful for the positivity and flexible attitude daily exemplified by our building leaders as you navigate through ever-changing scenarios.
